Kerry Still Thinks He'll Get Nod in '08

If at first you don't succeed...

A former top campaign fundraiser to Sen. John Kerry insists that when the smoke clears in the race for the 2008 Democratic nomination for president, Kerry will once again be the party's nominee.

Here's the scenario the aide outlined for NewsMax:

Hillary Clinton is the front-runner and she has the money and the organization to capture the nomination.

Other potential candidates, including Joe Biden, Evan Bayh and Mark Warner, don't have the money and will run out of cash before the race is over.

Not John Kerry, however. He still has millions of dollars left over from his previous campaign - plus the financial support of his billionaire wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, who can afford to pay whatever it might take to keep Kerry in the race.

In the end, then, it will come down to Clinton vs. Kerry.

But Clinton is "too polarizing" to win the nomination, the fundraiser told NewsMax, leaving Kerry to get the nod.

When asked if Kerry himself wasn't "polarizing," the aide pointed out that if just 60,000 Bush voters in Ohio had voted for Kerry instead, the Massachusetts Democrat would have won the election.

"He's a proven vote-getter," the Kerry supporter declared.

If the scenario plays out, Kerry could also wind up as the first Democrat since Adlai Stevenson to come out the loser in two presidential elections.

The dems aren't that dumb.

Hatred trumps dumbness.

he was furious when he found out that he had alot of money left over. Yup, multiple studies at 10 universities concluded that a mere 2.5 million dollars would have put Kerry in office. Joan

As ole Dandy Don Meridith used to say, If ands and buts were candy and nuts, oh what a Merry Christmas we would have!
Or to put it another way, if my aunt had any balls she would be my uncle!

If he takes Evan Bayh as Veep instead of John Edwards, I think they can grab Indiana... and that would be enough electoral votes. They might have a shot.

Dems usually don't run a loser the second time.

The Dems of today aren't usual. When hate is the party plank running him a third time shouldn't surprise anyone.

There is some sort of mental disorder unique to failed presidential aspirants. Kerry is only the last in a long line that includes Gore, Gene McCarthy, McCain, Buchanan, Edwards and last, but not least, Stassen.

The syndrome is characterized by a large ego, a sense of entitlement and a demand their interests supersede anyone else's regardless of the consequences. The chief manifestation is running for an office that everyone else knows they cannot win. In spite of this conunterfactual they keep on running until they either die or go broke.

Please, please!

The campaign slogans will just write themselves:

"John Kerry: when being a one-time loser just isn't enough"

"Kerry for President: when you're to much of a dumbass to remove his old bumper sticker"

"Kerry for Pres: Because we all need more Mama T"

"John Kerry: I've been practicing throwing a football"

"Kerry for Pres: Hey, I found my 180!"

"John Kerry: This time he really does have a plan!"

(Ooops, sent this one to the wrong subject. It belongs here)

The Dems seem to crave for someone that appears to have some guts... a bit masculine if possible... that's why they want queen (king?) Hillary. If there was ever a someone the "girly man" label fits like a glove is Kerry. Yes, he is not a "boy george" type (boy Gregory?)... I don't think... but this guy is not a "man." His wife might be... LOL!

No, he's a proven NonBush Be-er.

How well will he when he has to get votes for himself, rather than get votes "Not for Bush". There were plenty of people who were fed up with Bush, but still thought Kerry was a jacka&&

I for one am pulling for Kerry. Against a weak opponent Hill will have a chance. Against any opponent Kerry has no chance.

You have a point....The republican nominee won't be George Bush so,Kerry might have a shot at it...we won't know how much baggage our nominee has this time...The entire hollywood community, all liberals, the feminist movement unions of course will pull out all the stops for this one..If we win, the supreme court belongs to the people and the libs won't have that....

>>>Well, if he's gonna run then he better start revealing all those great "plans" that he had for everything. That way he would have every problem in the world solved by the time he took office. Oh, and he's still an idiot.>>>

No kidding!!! He had all the GREAT ideas and he's going to run on the "I have a plan" deal again and everyone is going to do the same thing as before. Well senator, why didn't you use your plan since the last election? Noone has heard a peep out of this arrogant ba&&-tard except to hear he is counting down to running again. I think it's ego. He can't handle not being in the spotlight and he's absolutely convinced he will be again.
