Completely meaningless. The election is in 2008, not now. Just more hyperventaliting because the political "analysis" have nothing to talk about. Just insiginficant noise.

It's only a matter of time before McCain and Guliani say something that will permanently piss off the right.

But how would a Republican candidate stand up against the Democrat candidates?
To: Semper Paratus
The right is already pissed off with them even being in the polls. LOL

Considering the alternatives out there (Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, etc), I'd vote for McCain or Giuliani.
But they're not my immediate first choices.
To: areafiftyone
McCain - Baloney. Rudy - hooey.
The telling point of this poll is that in general, the people detest Democrats.

The country is divided 50 50 Dems and Republicans - It's the moderates who will decide the election and they are not happy with Republicans or Democrats at this point in time. But its still early yet.

The democrats lost the last election. So even before the polls closed they started hyping this crap. Now they wait in eager anticipation as to which democrat will win the next election; Hildabeast or McCain.

If that's the case then it'll be time to sit home on election day and hope for something better in four years, as in 1976.
To: areafiftyone
This is ridiculous.
They only make the poll because of name recognition.
The last actively serving US Senator elected to the presidency was Kennedy.
Outside of the states that they governed, no one had ever heard of Clinton or Carter.
There's no reason to pay attention to any of that nonsense.

Its still early yet. I am hoping someone will step up to the plate. Maybe a governor.
