(Angus Reid Global Scan) Arizona senator John McCain remains one of the most popular prospective presidential contenders in the United States, according to a poll by Opinion Dynamics released by Fox News. At least 51 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican in head-to-head contests against two prospective Democratic rivals.
McCain holds a 13-point advantage over New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, and a 20-point edge over current Massachusetts senator and 2004 presidential nominee John Kerry.
Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani also holds a high level of support as the Republican nominee. Giuliani leads Rodham-Clinton by 11 points, and Kerry by 19 points.
In American elections, candidates require 270 votes in the Electoral College to win the White House. In November 2004, Republican George W. Bush earned a second term after securing 286 electoral votes from 31 states. Kerry received 252 electoral votes from 19 states and the District of Columbia.
Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The next presidential election is scheduled for November 2008.

oops Looks like its a Fox News Opinion Dynamics Poll.
Completely meaningless. The election is in 2008, not now. Just more hyperventaliting because the political "analysis" have nothing to talk about. Just insiginficant noise.
Both would be powerhouse leaders in the WOT.
Ouch!
All Hail McCain!

Would someone please post the
"Not this shit again" guy
I'm not tooo sure of McCain but Giuliani would be (waiting for the Freeper lightening to strike me for saying that).
But how would a Republican candidate stand up against the Democrat candidates?
The right is already pissed off with them even being in the polls. LOL
So far the as you say "Republican Candidates" are polling in the single digits against the Democrats.
Been there. Done that. Got the T-Shirt.
Considering the alternatives out there (Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, etc), I'd vote for McCain or Giuliani.
But they're not my immediate first choices.
The telling point of this poll is that in general, the people detest Democrats.
The country is divided 50 50 Dems and Republicans - It's the moderates who will decide the election and they are not happy with Republicans or Democrats at this point in time. But its still early yet.
The democrats lost the last election. So even before the polls closed they started hyping this crap. Now they wait in eager anticipation as to which democrat will win the next election; Hildabeast or McCain.
If that's the case then it'll be time to sit home on election day and hope for something better in four years, as in 1976.
This is ridiculous.
They only make the poll because of name recognition.
The last actively serving US Senator elected to the presidency was Kennedy.
Outside of the states that they governed, no one had ever heard of Clinton or Carter.
There's no reason to pay attention to any of that nonsense.
Its still early yet. I am hoping someone will step up to the plate. Maybe a governor.
