Al Gore Event Funded by Bin Laden's Family
The Saudi Arabia seminar that was addressed by former Vice President Al Gore over the weekend in a speech that criticized the U.S. for being too tough on Arabs was sponsored, in part, by Osama bin Laden's family.
On Saturday, the state-run Saudi news outlet Arab News reported that the Jeddah Economic Forum, where Gore spoke, was funded by "Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Saudi Binladin Group, Gulf One Investment Bank, Saudi Basic Industries Corp." and an array of other big companies with ties to the Middle East.
The Saudi BinLadin Group - which is Saudi Arabia's largest construction company - is run by Osama bin Laden's brothers and cousins. Jeddah, the site of the forum attended by Gore, is Osama bin Laden's hometown.
Although family members claim they've disowned bin Laden, his mother told reporters after the 9/11 attacks that she received advanced warning from him that something big was about to happen.
A wealthy bin Laden niece also reportedly abandoned her lower Manhattan apartment three weeks before the 9/11 attacks.
The BinLadin Group's longtime involvement in the Jeddah forum has been widely reported in the Mideast and European press.
In January 2002, ex-President Clinton addressed the JEF, which paid him $267,000 for his speech. According to London's Financial Times:
"The conference was dominated by the Saudis' desire to overcome the pressures of September 11 and strengthen U.S.-Saudi ties . . . The BinLadin Group, one of the forum's backers, has been battered by its association with Osama."

Did they also pick up the tab for the cost of Secret Service protection for this POS? If not, I want a refund of my tax dollars...
The bin Laden Family???
Well, it's just a matter of time before Michael Moore makes a documentary... right?
bump
Like many things that come out of newsmax, this is a junk article. It should be pulled from breaking news because it contains little information of value, is misleading, and decieving, and, IMO, giving it prominence gives a bad name to FR.
The Bin Laden family has disowned him long ago.
btw, I've never heard of 'bin laden's niece selling her ny apt'.
Sponsored in part, by Osama bin Laden's family. Who'da thunk it. Algore and Osama's family. How nice.
IF this is true (News Max) what now?
I really believe Al Gore and the Dems have lost their minds. Crazy and traitorous to boot.
I wonder what the DUmmies are going to say about this?
Yes, by all means, we cannot focus valuable resources on traitors abroad when we don't know yet if Cheney will get 2nd degree murder or manslaughter...oh drat, he's fine. Peppered, they are calling it. Peppered! Oh, the death of Amerika, now that we have a sitting Vice President unleashing a fusillade of hot lead, probably from a sawed off assault shotgun revolver with cop killer bullets, at a lawyer. Revolution! Impeachment! Run in circles, scream and shout!
That's what they say but I cannot imagine a mid-eastern family truly kicking a member out of their family. I think it means something different in their culture than it does in the US culture. I feel sure they still have contact of some sort with him.
Or perhaps Allah Gore!
"In 1993 and 1994, the Saudi Binladin Group gave two $1 million gifts to Harvard University for research on Islamic law and architecture, according to a university spokesman." (Michael Dobbs and John Ward Anderson, "A Fugitive's Splintered Family Tree", Washington Post, September 30, 2001)

TWO SENATORS QUESTION OFFICE'S
ABILITY TO BLOCK TERROR MONEY
By John Solomon, Associated Press

Kenneth Timmerman wrote an article for the November 1997 issue of the American Spectator entitled "Al Gore's Arab Moneyman." Timmerman reported that Al Gore had been promoting the nomination of Edward Gabriel to become U.S. Ambassador to Morroco.
The article claimed Gabriel raised money for Arab "charities" connected by PLO Chairman, Yasser Arafat, to the military wing of the terrorist group Hamas. Timmerman interviewed George Cody, the executive director of the pro-Syrian task force of Lebanon. Cody told Timmerman that Gore had an excellent relationship with Gabriel and that Gore was a driving force behind Gabriel's nomination.
Also, Timmerman reported that Gabriel had sat together with James Zogby and Abdulrahman Alamoudi on the steering committee of the Arab Americans for Clinton/Gore '96.
The "Moneyman" article described a "former DNC employee" who alleged that Gabriel served as a conduit for campaign contributions to the DNC from Arab businessmen in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Syria. The source claimed the funds were solicited by Gabriel and Zogby, and then paid out to Arab Americans, who then legally contributed to the Gore/Clinton campaign in amounts of $1000, $5000, and even $10000.
Abdulrahman Alamoudi was executive director of the American Muslim Council (AMC) in April 1996. Abdulrahman met with Clinton's National Security Advisor, Anthony Lake, in the White House on December 8, 1995 to receive a briefing on the Dayton Peace Agreement and to represent the interests of the Muslim Community. This access to the White House may have been connected to the donations arranged by Ed Gabriel for Gore and the DNC.
