An American plan to destroy Iran's nuclear capability has much more to it than America just destroying the "Nuke" potential. Iran, America under GW Bush holds all the cards. You have ID'd the bureaucratic agencies, as have I. A simple scenario should suffice to demonstrate that a simple nukular detonation, even with no damage at all, would cripple the economy thanks to bureaucratic overreaction. Suppose the evildoers fly their terrornuke into Newark International in a small, 8-seater civilian plane and detonate there taking out a couple dozen airliners and the control tower. A relatively few people would be gone immediately, but the plume would travel east over Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Long Island, and Conn. That entire area would be evacuated. After several years that area would be finally decontaminated and the population could return. How many $ trillion would that cost? Couple dozen?

If you have to kill 10,50 or 100k to save 1-2(or only G-d knows how many) mil, it's an equitable tradeoff.

The pakistanis having nukes scares me, but iranians having them is a nightmare unlike any mankind has ever known.

We're going to have to disarm the pakis in the near future(Musharif won't dodge his would-be assassins forever), but allowing the iranians to get them when we CAN stop them is insanity.
