Israel should respond to this action by immediately announcing they will withdraw from the "Roadmap" as soon as any member of the "Quartet" meets with Hamas. That will freak everyone out and preempt any such meeting.
I fear that after Hamas says the 'right words' about Isreal the US will try to arrange another 'shotgun' marriage with the 'roadmap' to the honeymoon suite.

I would assume that Israel will become more aggressive toward the various threats that face her....more proactive as important third countries like Russia and France cynically maneuver for their own advantage leaving Israel feeling more isolated with her only stead-fast friend half way around the world. The Palies and the Iranians are now more likely to find the sheriff in their neighborhood in a nasty mood.
