US President George W. Bush was to say in a speech that international cooperation helped thwart a terrorist attack on the US west coast, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan.
McClellan did not provide any details about the plot, or the way it was prevented, but told reporters the purpose of Bush's remarks was to "show the kind of international cooperation that is required" to defeat terrorism.
He also said the goal was not to justify Bush's controversial order, after the September 11, 2001 attacks, to allow spying on Americans without getting a warrant, in a break with past practice.
Yikes! Maybe it's time for me to stop multiple posting ; )
There is no agent Bauer. He's in fact a make-believe character played by a anti-American hippy's Hollywood kid and is named after a type of Marijuana.
The building is also known as Library Tower due to its proximity to the Los Angeles Central Library; it was built as part of the $1 billion redevelopment of the Library following two disastrous fires in 1986. The building was also known for a time as First Interstate World Center after being bought by First Interstate Bank. After First Interstate merged with Wells Fargo Bank the name Library Tower was restored. In March 2003 the property was bought by U.S. Bancorp and the building was renamed U.S. Bank Tower. Residents, however, continue to refer to it as Library Tower and are unlikely to stop doing so. (from wikipedia)
Frankly you have said it all - they don't crow about every victory - some would be sensitive and not for the public.
They are more honorable that to make cheep shots.
Jack Bauer's been a busy boy!!
W said they were going after it. The tallest building on the west coast.
Did a troll just out himself?
I wonder how the people working in that building feel about the news?
The poster made a stupid statement.
They probably think it's the President's fault their building was targeted. It's California.
Democrats: "Again, Bush engages in fear mongering!"
He's still here but his dumb post is gone.
If I were someone working in that building, I would be freaked out as hell, and start looking for a new location. AQ seems to want to hit the same target, as in WTC twice.
Oh lighten up. Somewhere out there, we do in fact owe much to unsung agents, whose names we will never know. Mine was a tribute to them.
I think of that every time I see the Sears Tower. Target rich.
"There is no agent Bauer."
Dam#! No Superman either?
Didn't Rush say that Kiefer Sutherland was a big fan of his?
Ah, stupid enough to get his statement pulled from this post.
How about some detail for us office-bound folk?
