UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said Wednesday that Israel has the right to defend its citizens, but criticized the policy of targeted killings, saying that they are like, "executions without trial."
Annan also expressed concern over the firing of Kassam rockets from Gaza into Israel and called on both Israelis and Palestinians to respect international law and to take steps to quell the violence.

And here I thought the Israelis attempting to punish only the perpetrators instead of blasting marketplaces, busses and restaurants full of innocents were the more civilized.

Kofi has the moral authority of a toilet paper core. But at least a toilet paper core never willingly locked lips with the likes of Yassir Arafat. Just the thought of the makes me want to puke. In fact, I have to run............

Does it seem Annan thinks there is something wrong with this? Since he doesn't even mention the execution of thousands in Sudan or Iran's threat to incinerate Israel, he probably thinks there is not only nothing wrong with this, but that a state has a right to terminate with prejudice--which it does, and he is correct in so thinking.
Kofi Annan is also a product of McAlester University in St Paul, MN. Loony left lieberal arts school. Once in a while at Summit and Snelling they let the loonies out for the anti-war anti-capitalism anti-Bush anti-America rant fest. Yeah, Kofi. It would be so much better for the Israelis to unleash missiles on civilians in a random fashion as the Palis do rather than hit the folks in charge.
