A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

ood morning, FRiends. I have often wished I had a *generic* table to post on days when I'm short of time, or low on creativity, and can't think of a theme or can't find the right graphics when I *have* a theme. So, here it is - I made one - and you will probably see it again 'cause it just says WELCOME!
I'm calling it my "Ain't Got No Theme" (sorta) or "Ain't Got No Graphics" (sorta) table. When you see it, you will know it's one or the other - or BOTH! Do hope you'll stop in, have a cup of coffee, share your thoughts, pick a theme, post a picture, offer a suggestion for a future theme, offer to WRITE a future thread, or just wave as you drive by. :)

Those poppies are so beautiful!
None here, but my little white snowbell flowers opened Sunday, and three pale pink camellias have bloomed...cold tonight, and will be for a few days, up into the 50's, but then bounces right back into the 60's and 70's...
I can handle it..:)

I can handle it..:) Oh, me too!!! The high here today was 69 and by Friday and Saturday it will be getting up into the low 70's. YES!!!
As an aside, my son was born in Bakersfield, about an hour south of where we live now, on Sunday morning, February 16th. It was the most gorgeous, warm, sunshiny day. The fruit trees were blooming pink and white. It was a perfect, sparkly day for our blessed event.
I love when spring comes early to the central valley, but I know these 70 degree days can quickly be replaced by blustery, cold and dreary weather. It won't last through to April, but I am sure going to enjoy the warm sunshine while it is here. :-)

"We were never really cat people but she's had a good ...l - o - n - g life!" We had one kitty who lived to be 17. My daughter and her husband got her as a kitten for $5 from a pet shop - solid black.
Larry taught her to retrive and bring back to him a wadded up paper ball he'd toss into a barrel, and to sit on his shoulder while he drove.
Later, when they moved and couldn't take her, Little Miss "Snuggles" changed status from my grandkitty to *our* kitty..:)
She moved with us to the house we had in the woods in North Carolina - endured several other kitty residents - and when we moved to South Carolina, drove beside me in the car on a specially made traveling arm I had my husband build.
The arm between the front seats was too short for her to stretch out comfortably, so I had him make something like a small ironng board I padded with carpet, placedover the car arm - a leg underneath bracing it on the front part of the seat - and she rode it all the way regally, hubby in the UHaul behind us!
She moved with ease to this house, too, from the one at the lake, and reared Binky Boy, finally reaching the end of her kitty road 4 years later.
Sadly, after she died, Binky has been a lone pet, and completely forgot how to play...became sedate like we are, never able to go outdoors since he had been declawed when we inherited him at age 2 from my niece.
Four of my cats have been quite literally been "Angel Kitties,"
sensitive to our physical crises - -

Yikes, that's an awful looking thing, Amy. LOL.
Evening everybody.
I don't know what to post either, so I'll try one of my favorite comedians.
Prunella
Poor old Prunella was built like a fella,
She went 'round to see Dr. Kerr,
He said, "Now then, make haste," but when she stripped to the waist,
He could hardly stop calling her 'sir.'
"Don't worry your head, I'm a surgeon," he said,
"I'll graft you two on just like that."
But he went and got plastered, the silly old fool,
And he grafted them onto her back.
Now poor old Prunella, she can't get a fella,
To walk or to talk or romance with.
'Cause no one wants to chat with a girl who looks like that,
But by golly, she's great fun to dance with.

So glad to see you here, Gail!
Think of you often, and continue to pray things go well in your life.
Hope you enjoy your new job...

What a neat story about your early on kitty. As I said we are NOT cat people (although we have LOVED Fred the Cat for years as do his boy dog brothers) It will be interesting whether we get another cat. Probably the only way is if he/she shows up on our doorstep BUT that's kind of the pattern around here LOL)
