Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark!
Of course, I don't necessarily support McCain's efforts either. Having stamped out Freedom of Speech, I would not be surprised if Johnnie McMeMeMeCain was moving on to the citizen's right to petition the government for redress of grievances.
But it is fun to see Barak Obama get a well-deserved smack-down.

As I noted, I initially believed you shared that goal. But I understand how important the opportunity to lead your partys effort to exploit this issue must seem to a freshman Senator, and I hold no hard feelings over your earlier disingenuousness. Again, I have been around long enough to appreciate that in politics the public interest isnt always a priority for every one of us. Good luck to you, Senator.
I am not a big McCain fan, but this is delicious. McCain has publicly slammed a freshman Senator who got too big for his britches, and Obama is now a laughing stock in the Senate cloak room.
Obama urinated away his credibility by trying to double cross a powerful and more well known Senator (McCain). Obama is now going to have a much, much more difficult time getting something accomplished. Moreover, it may take him a couple of years to get some credibility back, and that is a lifetime in politics.
Obama has the media on his side to prop him up and ignore this, so that will help. But inside the Senate, Obama is a dead man walking on any legislation for the foreseeable future.

So, who is behind this "bipartisan proposal for lobbying and ethics reform" and if McCain is, do we want it?

Charles McCord (Imus program) is about to read the entire letter on the air (MSNBC).

...previous commitment to help develop a bipartisan proposal for lobbying and ethics reform.I for one would love to know exactly what is in this proposal. I don't trust McCain and I wonder what freedoms he is now planning on taking away from us.

So, who is behind this "bipartisan proposal for lobbying and ethics reform" and if McCain is, do we want it?Considering that the biggest beneficialry of McCain-Feingold turned out to be McCain, I don't think so. Especially since McCain's done nothing to close the loophole that allows him to be the biggest recipient of tribal bucks on the Hill.

Such a cat fight....both having a hissy....who cares? I don't care if they duke it out in the Senate as they are both cut from the same cloth. Why can't we do better than these two?

Zarquon help us if he ever wins the primaries. If so, we conservatives will wake up with a doozy of a hangover after the nomination party, chained to the oar section of the S.S. Caine and heading straight for the Land of Serfdom, as Captain Queeg screams at us that it doesn't matter where he promised to take us before, we're under fire from the S.S. Queen Hillary, and we'll all be walking the plank if she prevails.

You can be sure that anything that McCain does is solely to benefit his own interest.

Chip Reid on Imus just characterized Obama's response as "taking the high road". Snort. Obama got caught lying through his teeth, and that pusillanimous response was the best he could offer up for weaseling out of what he told McCain. Obama's letter sounded Clintonian to me, a non-denial denial.
