Visiting Speaker of Bosnia's House of Representatives Nikola Spiric leading a parliamentary delegation conferred here Sunday with Majlis Speaker Gholam-ali Haddad Adel on expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Press Bureau and Public Relations Department of Majlis, at the meeting, Haddad Adel expressed the hope that the current visit of Bosnian parliamentary delegation would result in all-out expansion of mutual cooperation mainly in parliamentary affairs.
Referring to Iran's economic and commercial capabilities, he voiced the readiness of the Iranian government and Majlis to expand relations between the two countries.
Given the restoration of peace and establishment of democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he said once variant ethnical and racial groups were the root case of civil war in Bosnia but it now should turn into an opportunity for the country's development.
On the double standard policies of Western states on many international issues, he referred to reporting Iran's nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council and said the Iranian nation will never yield to any bullying powers and it is wrong to test the same policies twice.
The Bosnian parliament speaker, for his part, congratulated the Iranian nation on the 27th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and called the Iranian government and nation as permanent friend of Bosnian government and nation.
Briefing the Iranian Majlis speaker on recent developments along with political, economic and social reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he expressed the hope to witness further expansion of relations through the support of the two countries parliaments.
On IAEA Board of Governors' resolution on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, he said it is the legitimate right of every single country to have access to such technology adding, "We hope the problem would be resolved through patience and wisdom of Iranian officials." The Bosnian parliament speaker invited his Iranian counterpart to pay an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Haddad Adel expressed hope to visit the country at the earliest opportunity.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides underlined the need to form parliamentary friendship groups to promote further cooperation in the international fora.
