Add to that list - Little Russ.
Just saw it, one of several special awards for today.
This thread is so good I am running 150-200 posts behind.
Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight comes to mind but that is normally aimed at politicians not pundits. Normally pundits are just asked for their views and the audience is left to make their own minds up.
Don't know for sure, but don't think it does. I'll try and find it on DTV and FReepmail you if I do find it.
ROFLMAO
This is the heart of this matter. Some are trying to imply that the administration did not go to congress for authorization because there is no way congress would grant it for such a wicked, evil program. In fact, the problem was that too much about the program would have to be revealed. That is why they told them not to go there.
Just realized I missed ABC This Week. It got pushed up from 11 to 10, opposite the Fox show, in order to make room for the Houston Rockets vs NY Knicks basketball game.
I'll have to see if they either post the video or rebroadcast somehow...
Nope, no video, but they do have a podcast (I'm getting the MP3 download) of the audio. I won't be able to see the expressions, but at least I can hear what was said.
Well it is a lot of fun and a lot of turmoil at the same time. You always have someone to play with and you always have someone to fight with. These three will be against those three on any number of subjects, and you learn to get along but you also learn to form coalitions. You learn a lot of responsibility and how to make do on practically nothing and still keep a sense of humor. Freerepublic is kind of like that big family, and the sense of humor and frivolity is what keeps us all going so we can live to fight the liberals another day.
What the President has started to do in the last two weeks is to 'Nationalize' the Congressional Election around National Security, "I want to know who al-Queda is talking to".
Russert's format is getting really old........NYT and WP quotes, ask attack questions. Take away the newspaper quotes and all Russert has are the DNC points...same thing. (BTW are his eyes getting smaller?)
This is what I'm getting from Democrats, for what it's worth.
You should try for the BOR contest.
I would love to see a Freeper get on that show!
A good idea to debate BOR on, would be Gun Control, Bill has his head up his butt on that issue.
The reason you're running behind is because you keep looking at the clock and not the thread! LOL
I'll take Iraq for $1000 Bill....
I agree with your points. Just like by 'conventional wisdom' the Gorester should have been polling way ahead of GWB in the 2000 election (was VP, country not at war, economy was supposedly humming along (though they denied there was a recession coming on), etc., etc.
They don't understand why they keep losing elections and I don't think there's a chance they are going to take over the house or the senate this year:
- they have no new ideas
- they always have plans, but they never seem to materialize
- they are negative about the war, the President, and our country (optimism wins over negativity almost every time).
- the American people do not trust Dims w Nat'l Security and IMHO that will still be an issue in this year's election
- the Dims and the MSM can no longer spew their lies without being caught and called on it (by the new media)and many Americans are taking what they say w a grain of salt
- Pubbies on a whole are more likeable :-)
- the Alito hearings showed the Dims for what they really are and turned a lot of people off, including some Dims
- Abramoff will show that it wasn't just Pubbies that were involved
- Delay will be vindicated
- Libby's trial isn't suppose to be until next Jan (IIRC); however, I think either the charges will be dropped before then (which will give the Dims 1 less issue) and/or Fitz's fighting to release documents and/or Libby's attny's handing out subpoenas to a lot of the press, including Timmy, and possibly even Plame and Wilson could make for some good soundbites for our side.
- the far left continues to try to take over the Dim party, which is turning a lot of moderate Dims off - I think they'll either sit out the election or vote Pubbie.
- some states are trying to reform their election process and make voter fraud more difficult, which will make it more difficult for Dims to win some elections.
And, as Rush says, the Democrat party will continue to implode.
Just my $.02
ROFL!
