A pressing question as for the EU I would say no.
Come on EU, surprise me.
My tagline expresses my sentiments perfectly.....the civilized world must show solidarity with the Danes.
The fight against the muslims has begun in earnest. Even the Europeans have been sucked in now.

Submitter here. Normally I don't post articles, but I felt compelled with this one. I know, and understand, why a lot of people might think the cartoonists went overboard and were intentionally disrespectful and aren't entirely innocent, but regardless, the Islamic world's reaction has been ridiculous, and is totally unjustified.
Now, I consider myself a moderate, but I'm probably rather liberal by Freeper standards, but nevertheless, I am tired of hearing how the West must respect a culture that would drag education and the arts (my two favorite subjects) back into the stone age, and that these extremist elements are only borderline fringe groups.
I was appalled that the US' reaction to this was to side with these groups against Europe. I know Europeans are generally not popular here due to our differences, esp the more recent ones, but how can you choose a sworn enemy over a friend who occasionally frustrates you???
This is the equivalent of Nazi book-burning. There is a lot of "Mein Kampf" in the Koran--- and vice-versa.
From all of the hurried apologies, firings of editors and staff and criticizing of publishers, I say it's a done deal. And we too are submitting to their will. It seems that violence and terror works.
I have a new meaning for WWW. West Will Win.
You might not agree with me, but I think Ibn Warraq makes some good points.
For the record, Shabana Rehman supports the cartoons and says that they are most needed in Europe at the moment. No wonder.... Fundematelists fired numerous rounds of gunshots at her family restaurant last year.
I believe the situation in the US is different, but this is no joke in Europe.
Interestingly, the row in Denmark has led to the formation of a group called "Moderate Muslims" who are angry and scared of the fundamentalist reaction to the cartoons. They are sick and tired of the imams who claim to speak for all muslims.
One imam is part of the group, and off course, fundamentalist are now threating to kill him, and they already have assaulted his kid and beat him up.
Hirsi Ali encouraged the cartoons and said they invited a vital debate that the muslim community must engage in.
I do not believe we do anyone a favour by cowtowing to the most fundamentalist part of the Islamic religion. On the contrary, I believe if we do not stand up for the values of the enlightenment, we do moderate muslims like Shabana Rehman and the Danish Iman a huge disservice.
Cheers.
Too late, its guest worker program doomed Europe decades ago.
We have discovered the enemy's soft underbelly!
DRAW MORE CARTOONS!!!!!!
Well, at least the author of this article gets it.
Bump
Here we go again:
1917-1918 Americans bail out the Europeans.
1941-1945 Americans bail out the Europeans.
2006- ? Americans bail out the Europeans.
I posted this under "Why Muslims are so sensitive to images of Prophet being used" Perhaps it belongs in this one also.
How can they say islam is peace when they were responsible for and rejoiced after September 11th? There is no such thing as muslim peace especially mohamed the terrorist!
They murdered my son and thousand of others. My son was a peace loving kid with a wife and two little children (1 & 3). How many muslims rioted over the loss of life in this country? The koran is a terrorist document. How many westerners have read the verses of the koran? Maybe people should read some of it before saying it is a peaceful religion.
May muslims never have peace! We need another crusade to rid this world of these vipers!
We have found the enemy's soft underbelly!
DRAW MORE CARTOONS!
Except insane.
"Do not apologize."
"...Unless, we show some solidarity, unashamed, noisy, public solidarity with the Danish cartoonists, then the forces that are trying to impose on the Free West a totalitarian ideology will have won; the Islamization of Europe will have begun in earnest. Do not apologize."
