About 1,000 people gathered in rain-swept Washington, D.C. today at an anti-Bush rally organized by the World Can't Wait, a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party.
Held on the grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally capped a week of activities by the group demanding President Bush leave office immediately because of their opposition to the Iraq war and other Bush policies.
The organizers planned for a crowd in the tens of thousands, but as the photos below show, they spent a whole lot of money planning for people who never showed.
One woman who did attend the rally made it all worthwhile them, though. She carried a poster that featured a blood-dripping beheaded President Bush.
The local CBS TV station reported that 10s of thousands were expected.
But failed to give any information as to the actual number of people.

I could be wrong about Sharpton but some "names" were not present today for the procession because they were at this stupid rally. I just can't remember which names. LOL

That shot of the portapotties is going to have the same effect as Nagin's schoolbuses, a permanent visual memory of the failure of the anarchist/socialist movement to gain influence.
BTW, I bet we saw the schoolbus photos on FR days before they were displayed on Old Media outlets.

I got in a couple more digs about disagreeing with someone's message not giving her the right to vandalize it, but she just couldn't get it. I only wish I'd thought to tell her that her felony mischief (these were large professionally printed full color banners) might have cost her her right to vote.

Ummm, sorry that is incorrect. An "independent documentary film maker" stopped by to interview us during our counter protest. As he questioned our wheel chair bound wounded warrior, who very emphatically stated he is healing and will gladly be returning to Iraq, the questioning turned to the support factor of the war.
The man with the camera asked him, what do you think will happen when the American people turn against this war as they did with VIET NAM and then congress cuts the funding? ...Please note that 35 years later the protests of the 60's and 70's that went unanswered, HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN as you suggest, but are still being used to shape public opinion...
At that point I stepped up and said that was a lie, the American people did not turn against the war. (I apologized to our soldier for interrupting, but he, with a smile, said it was perfectly fine with him.)
With that the cameraman asked me how I could say such a thing when the country was against the war. I told him I would not stand there and allow him to recite his lies! I told him the MEDIA was against the war and informed the citizenry that we too, were against it. At that time, WE had no counter to the Nordics in the street, as we had never seen anything like that and "civilized" people did not swarm into the street acting crazy.
As he started babbling about how we were losing in Vietnam, concretebob, a VN vet, stepped up and announced that when he left VN we were winning. I added that when my (ex) VN vet Marine came home, he believed we were winning! We explained that this is WHY we do what we do. We will NEVER AGAIN allow the media to form public opinion. This time we will speak up!
jla - THAT is why we are in the streets. The American people must NEVER AGAIN believe that the commies in the street represent the American people. They must be countered every where they rear their ugly head!
I will not respond to your arrogant elitist comment regarding our dress. When you are standing/marching for hours in 90+ degree temps, or 25 degree with wind gusts, or in the pouring down rain, you may feel free to make suggestions regarding how you would like us to dress.
