I was listening to the John Batchelor Program last night.
Jed Babbin, of the American Spectator, was a guest last night, Friday, February 3, 2006.
Babbin said several things last night:
1) The Justice Department investigation into the leaking of the NSA program is pointing to Capital Hill.
2) The Justice Department is looking to use polygraphs on members of Congress and their staffers.
3) Any Senate member of Congress who refuses a polygraph directive by the Justice Department automatically loses their security clearance if they have one.
4) The names being rumored to be a target of the investigation are Senator John Rockefeller(D)-West Virginia, Senator Dick Durbin(D)-Illinois, and Senator Ronald Wyden(D)-Oregon.
5) Members of the Intelligence have already been looking at members of Congress and their staffers over other leaks.
6) A name of a target of the investigation will likely not be revealed for another 2 to 3 months.
7) The Justice Department has an idea who the leaker or leakers are, but is proceeding with caution.
8) A firestorm will erupt upon the indictment of a sitting U.S. Senator.
This was already posted early this am by ken5050. He said that he would be putting up the thread Monday for the Hearing.
Yep. A firestorm will erupt, a lot of smoke issuing from the media, and the Senator(s) in question escape unscathed.
LOL...is this great or what. ;o)
A firestorm will erupt upon the indictment of a sitting U.S. Senator.
7 for 8, Jed. A firestorm will erupt here on FR, at the Washington Times, NY Post, FOX News, and LGF. But as far as the LSM, that still far too many depend on for their pablum, they will continue to ignore this story and throw out occasional screeds on the horrible misdeeds of Scooter Libby.

It's probably ALL those and MORE!!
I did a search and my headline didn't come up.
Sorry about that.
I wrote all this info down last night and just got to it now.
I didn't know about your prior post.
Credit to you for posting this information.
Recently, more and more mention has been made of monitoring brain activity as a means of identifying lying criminals of all sorts. I suggest very strongly, assuming the search is serious, that the new method be used.
Interesting if true.

If it gets that far. Based on the behavior and demeanor
of the Bush Admin so far, I suspect that their principal
interest is in stopping future leaks, and not retribution
for past ones.
And Steps 1...7 will like have the desired (and necessary)
"chilling" effect.
Who, if convicted, will be given a sentence that would make Sandy Burlar blush. DC's typical parking ticket will have a bigger fine.
Good...But it's never happening.
BUT if it was, when do we retroactively give the Clintons polygraphs for their 1001 crimes?
I think you will find it here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1571529/posts Just in case he is sleeping in and does not see your post to him.
I would like to wire a couple of punks from the NYT to something that has a completely different mechanism, but is known for having the ability to get them to tell the truth in the first place.
Hard to get those old timey telephone ringer coils these days.
So would Porter Goss.
Wyden was at his insulting worst during the Negroponte hearing. He seemed both irascible, and from general appearances, a man who was extremely nervous. I wonder why?
Wire up the Rocket Fella!
50 Amps.
That post was last night.
