This is such bs by the Syrian Govt. Of course these same people that are storming the Embassy hate the Syrian Govt. But besides the long term stupedity of the Syrians its silly to think that the Syrians couldnt stop this if they wanted.

They are the new Nazis. When the Nazis would demonstrate in countries outside Germany, the west trembled and looked for new ways to pacify them.

What's different here?

I am not sure how much of this reflects moslem sentiment. I expect the vast majority of Moslems really are indifferent to these cartoons. This is organized by extremist groups to get attention thats all.

Isn't it something that the MSM is labeling arsonist rioters spreading violence, destruction and unrest as "demonstrators"? I mean, c'mon!!!

Syria and Iran are making the case for invading them much easier than when we were trying to make our case for Iraq's invasion.

indifferent?

I beg to differ.

However, being offended is alright. Not the reaction, which at least in the west has been rather limited.

And many muslims in the west are condemning the reactions in the middle east.

was it something the US said that made them go on this burning spree?

I am sure if it heats up more over there, some journalist will try and drag Bush into this in a press conference.

Cluster embassies is a good idea. Like the medieval walled cities, I think. They are mad at everyone anyway.

This is what happens when you accuse the peaceful Muslims of being violent. They prove your point.

I was struck by CNN's strange coverage of this story. They had it as breaking news, and showed the pictures of the burning buildings, but that Sanchez guy (the MSNBC roll-up sleeves dude), kept talking about the cartoons and how the Muslims are offended by this and on and on..

And silly me kept thinking about whether there were people inside burning to death.

Could you imagine if some right wing group torched CNN. Would CNN be kindly explaining the grievances of the group while the building burnt.

Don't know why I'm even surprised anymore.

Remember, Syria is ruled by a non-Moslem group of ruthless cuthroats. Hard to select a side to be on.

Let one side kill the other, and then kill the side that's left.

This of course, from the man who thought negociating with North Korea about nuclear arms would be effective too. I am confident when I say that's Clinton's foreign policy was the worst of any President ever.

"Today the embassies in Syria...tomorrow Detroit."

That would be enough to kick off an American Citizen response.... I hope.

Any good will between the Muslims and non Muslims in the U.S. would suffer greatly, if the bastards pull their Palestinian bullsquat here on a local "personal" level...

It would then get VERY personal.....

Potentially the 2nd act of war against NATO countries in one day by Syria.

I agree. These are acts of war against a NATO allies. Religious outrage does not excuse casus belli.

Time to activate the alliance. This BS needs to be stopped NOW before the fire bombs become nuclear.

as a stone on the water, it doesn't float,
but that will be their first accusation / question
because of the nature of the beast with the rioters.

one would think the media would be fully aware after
cartoon images cause this type of reaction, the mohams
aren't sane, but I'll wager that there will be propaganda
presented to the American people that when illegal actions
are done to one's embassy is not an act of war but simply
a presentation of fact that there are people who simply
disagree with the victim ( oops, I can't say that) nation.
