This should be Front Page News - not just on FR but every newspaper in the Free World.

Mind you, I'm not holding my breath!

"Now, for every liberal who claimed Bush lied. For every printed article that passed on the claim, and every TV channel that did as well. Will you devote yourself to pursuing the claims of Gen. Sada as aggressively as you passed on the disinformation about Bush's truthfulness?"

Don't hold your breath!

I recall one of the criticisms the US Govt had against the Iraqi sanctions was that France and Russia (I assume other nations too) kept rolling in with large aircraft. The worry was not not only with possible violations importing dual-use items...but what was exported.

IIRC, there was some harsh diplomatic words when then planes did not stop after repeated US warnings.

Sorry, but really, we're on to other things now. We always knew the truth would come out but WMD? ...that's the past now.

We have our hands full stabilizing Iraq and yet very soon Iran will need our military's attention. Germany's Merkel just shone the light on Iran's obstinance and Abimabadjob's likeness to Adolf Hitler. She is right. And when that happens we'll forget all about Iraq's missing WMD because then we'll really be at war.

Obviously, Saddam did have WMD, however, there are several reports as to what happened to them.

Firstly, Saddam was jointly working with Qadaffi on a nuclear weapon, which the latter surrendered. The last I heard Saddam has something like 305 Iraqi scientists working in Libya. When Qadaffi surrendered his program it was one of the great victories in our GWOT...and has been ignored by the MSM.

Secondly, the former head of the Romanian KGB, Ion Pacepa, reported Russian Spetsnaz spirited the WMD to Syria, and from there to the Bekka Valley. Pacepa was of course writing a book he wants to sell.

Thirdly, the former administration official, John Shaw, the former deputy undersecretary for international technology security, has likewise reported the Russian Spetsnaz spirited the WMD out of Iraq into Syria, and from there into Lebanon's Bekka Valley. Shaw was of course fired for corruption. I suspect Shaw got his information from Pacepa.

Fourthly, now we have this report from Georges Sada, who was a general in Sadam's air force. Sada is also writing a book he wants to sell.

Observation number 1. I am troubled by the report of the bomb capable of killing 20,000 being smuggled by al-Zaquari's group into Jordan. A bomb capable of killing 20,000 would not be composed of conventional explosives. It had to be either a dirty or chemical bomb. I believe we would have heard more if it was a dirty bomb, and so I suspect it was chemical, and al-Zaquari was known for making chemical bombs. The only question I have left along this line is if the components were from Saddam's stockpile.

Observation number 2. Another issue that exists as a result of the Cold War in conservative circles is that a lot of people are still operating on Cold War-era blinders and hence aren't seeing the forest amidst all the trees. Russia and the US are working very close in the GWOT contrary to what many of you think and hear. If Saddam had the weapons spirited to the Bekka Valley by Russian Spetsnaz, then the Russians likely would have let us know where they went. Any earlier treaty the Russians might have had with Saddam died with the fall of his government. They would of course be opposed to it being disclosed by the US.

Mind you, I'm not holding my breath!

I want to believe this general, but he really doesn't have any hard evidence to back up his claims. I'm beginning to think he's just a huckster trying to sell a book.
