Sonoma County Support the Troops Rally 2006 (Rally in Santa Rosa, California)
E-mail | Feb. 2, 2006 | Elissa Wadleigh

Posted on 02/03/2006 11:02:53 PM PST by Hetty_Fauxvert

Well, it is that time again. Time to begin putting together this year's rally.

I am very excited to have this privilege once again.

Last year my sister in-law Lea-Ann was a huge help in getting ready for the rally, however, this year she is living in Georgia with my brother (her husband) as he recently returned from a year in Iraq.

This means that we need to add as many people as possible to our committee to help me with all the things that she did last year. If you are interested in helping, or if you know anyone that might be interested in helping, please let me know. Many hands make for easy work.

We are planning for Saturday, June 24th at Courthouse Square.

I need people to help with Advertising, Fundraising, Raffle Prize Donations, Informational Booths, Children's Activities, Signage, Setup, Tear Down, Media Relations, Speaker Recruitment, and many other things that are not coming to mind at the moment.

I am going to be having a planning meeting for any and all volunteers to contribute ideas. If you can make it, GREAT! If not, please find 2 other people to come in your place. hehe Just Kidding, But really, we do need lots of help, so forward my e-mail on to anyone you think might be willing.

Planning Meeting - Friday, February 17th 6:30pm at Round Table Pizza on Marlow Rd., Santa Rosa.

If you can't make this meeting but want to help, please let me know.

Thanks a bunch,

Elissa Wadleigh Director - So. Co. Support The Troops

I attended the 2005 rally and only about 75 people showed, despite the fact that there were some excellent speakers. I think the problem was a lack of publicity. I myself, even though I was not connected with the rally, sent the info to the Press Democrat and (supposedly conservative) radion station KSFO, but they did not respond, and there was absolutely no publicity for nor coverage of the event. So let's change that this year! If you don't live near Santa Rosa but know someone who does, please send this info to them. If you would like to correspond with Elissa directly, please Freepmail me and I will send you her email. Let's get some action on this and show everyone there are a FEW redblooded citizens in Sonoma County! (And besides ... wouldn't you love to see the look on Lynn Woolsey's face if we had a crowd of 500 this year? Yeah, baby!)

Yeah, baby!! Maybe some of us from the Fresno/Central Valley Chapter can make it up there this year. I know I'd like to be there.

My brother is in Sebastapol (sp?), and yes, he is a Conservative.

Is that near Santa Rosa?

Yes, Sebastopol is very close to SR, about a 10 to 20 minute drive (depending on how you drive!). I take my cats to the vet in Sebastopol. :)

We lived in the subdivision across the road from the pizza place a few years ago! If this had been going on then I would be there in a heartbeat to help out. :-)

I'll say a prayer you have an overwhelming response to this!
Although it's deep in the heart of Liberal Land, there's lot of lurking conservatives in California. Hopefully you'll be able to get lots of advertising for this.

Looking forward to pictures and an update when this occurs.

Grate!

Lets all of us from the Fresno area get up to Santa Rosa for this!

I waited to post to make sure the date was secured, and it is now. Saturday June 24th, 2006. Courthouse Square is a great place for this. This is where it was held the previous years.

I attended a meeting Fri nite and a lot has been accomplished already.

There are at least three very good speakers confirmed so far and many more in the works.

Support the Troops organizations and radio stations are being contacted to offer them table/booth space so people can network and work with them in supporting the troops.

In the past it has been attended by 300 plus people and this year we are going to try to attract many more.

The liberals are pretty noisy in this area, but there are a lot of Conservatives and Troop Supporters around here also.

Grate!

Round up as many people as you can to come.

Maybe those Young Republicans we ran into out in the woods that day want to participate.

You know, people with extra letters in their names and their friends...
