I'd chased the mouse all through the house
From the Kitchen, Dining Room and Den
All over carpet and floor and up to the Patio Door
Through the Bedrooms and back to the Kitchen again

Then the Dog decided to enter the Game late
As I approached the exhausted mouse on a plate
The Dog slid close and we locked determined eyes
Silly Dog. To try to out-stare a Cat is most un-wise!

I decided to try Guile and Ruse
With my paw daintily upon the plate's rim
My green eyes telegraphed to him
"Call It!...Heads I Win. Tails You Lose!"

I'm not sure what Contra dancing is...so I would have to say I haven't been. Colonel_Flagg is a fan of big band too...and I have learned to appreciate many songs that he posts.

I love the area I live in...it's very pretty here.
