British Muslims burn a Danish flag during a demonstration outside the Danish embassy over the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, in London February 3, 2006. The cartoons, which first appeared in a Danish newspaper, have sparked outrage across the Islamic world, although Britain's normally provocative newspapers have so far refused to publish them. Ummmmm, you might want to discover the differences between the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution, before you publicly assert that they are the same document.
Hint: One was written before we defeated England in the Revolutionary War (not to be confused with the Civil War)...

OOH more sensitivity training for you.

Well, perhaps this will provoke a REAL discussion about tolerance. Well, perhaps this will provoke a REAL discussion about the abuse of tolerance.
There. I fixed it.

We will see. There is a protest by Norwegian muslims scheduled in Oslo tomorrow. I wonder if they will be carrying equally compelling signs..Please do keep us posted!

"a few weeks ago about an enormous number of Imams banding together to call on all their followers to reject violence and turn in possible terrorists living in their communities to the police."
And you believed them?

I guess Europe is in the thick of it now....

A well planned manipulation of "outrage"... a preemptive strike by an islamic group (see how many of the placards bear the same handwriting and have similar construction) their aim being to set up those who dare with charges of "incitement" under local laws by demonstrating it's "it's a given fact" (left wing hypocrisy) these particular barbarians do not know how to behave themselves.
If muslims thought this out correctly (they don't always do), they would know they are shooting themselves in the foot by doing this and waking up the locals to the threat and ideology of the fifth column in their midst.
I'm interested to see which way this goes... if Europe will indeed bring in elements of sharia by protecting islam from "blasphemy" and wonder what the next act of "submission" will be if the muslims are rewarded and encouraged in this way, and later take the time to marvel over the mighty powers of allah over the kuffar.

Correction:
A well planned manipulation of "outrage"... a preemptive strike by an islamic group (see how many of the placards bear the same handwriting and have similar construction) their aim being to set up those who dare to republish pics of the Mad Mo with charges of "incitement" under local laws by demonstrating it's "it's a given fact" (left wing hypocrisy) these particular barbarians do not know how to behave themselves.
If muslims thought this out correctly (they don't always do), they would know they are shooting themselves in the foot by doing this and waking up the locals to the threat and ideology of the fifth column in their midst.

agree entirely...
I don't think Denmark will vote for Turkey to join EU after this..... so one good thing might yet come of it...

How in the world do we expect to win a war like this? We never will. Not until the true motivations and rationale of those we face are made clear to all. (see my #251)

Why are we not standing with Europe on this? We should be able to make common cause finally. Defend the values of the West and free speech etc.. This is basic to our civilization, not liberal or conservative. If we can't stand against barbarians threatening to kill us over cartoons I don't know what it will take... We can't stand with Europe because they won't stand themselves.
There is no reason for Britain to take even five minutes of this. But they will. Not one of the protestors shown was deported, and that's the problem. If I was in charge, the whole lot would be given one-way tickets back to Pakistan or whatever stan they're from.
We can't stand with Europe until they're ready to stand up to these murderers/threateners themselves. If they don't do so soon, there will be no Europe to stand up with, I'm afraid.

"According to Islamists, everyone was born a Muslim."
That is consistent with the Christian belief that everyone is born with original sin.

Now that is beautiful! A few of those in the mid east and problem solved! The explosion is beautiful. Using thermonuclear weapons on people is not. It may, however be necessary. I see only three outcomes in the Middle East.
1. Bush's hope for a democratic and peaceful Middle East.
2. The solution pictured in my #198.
3. A final solution to the Christian/Jewish/Bhuddist/Hindu/etc. problem.
I'd prefer 1, but 2 will work in a pinch. 3 is not an option.
