Muslims Against the Cartoon Jihad By Kamal Nawash FrontPageMagazine.com | February 3, 2006

Protests have spread across the Muslim world over the publication in European news papers of cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. Outrage over the cartoons has ignited demonstrations from Turkey to the Gaza Strip, and prompted a boycott of Danish products throughout the Middle East.

In Pakistan, hundreds demonstrated on Thursday, chanting "Death to Denmark" and burning Danish and French flags. In Egypt, President Hosni Mubarak warned that the decision by some European papers to publish the cartoons could encourage terrorists. Consequently, government ministers from 17 Arab nations have asked the Danish government to punish the newspaper for what they called an "offense to Islam" and some countries have even pulled their ambassadors from Denmark.

It is good to see that at least some Muslims are speaking out. Unfortunately, he/they will be listed as 'blasphemers' and denounced. He does ask some interesting questions but doesn't provide any solutions. Interesting article to discuss but probably not for long. C'est la guerre.

For years, we've wondered "where's the outrage" of mainstream Muslims when their religion is hijacked by extremists who kill.

All we've heard is silence.

Publish a cartoon, and now these silent Muslims can't restrain their outrage.

Perhaps we've taken the politically correct road for too long.

The Muslim sense of humor is a bit strange. Pictures or videos of mangled bodies evoke laughter from them but cartoons evoke worldwide outrage. The real funny thing is the dimwits thing we can talk to these swine.

From the true Moo perspective, the extremists are the moderates.

- Death to Denmark over cartoons? What a bunch of camel turds. I've had about enough of this bullsh%t. It's time to destroy Islam once and for all. Time to spread the truth about this death cult and the wickedness of its founding prophet.

"It's time to destroy Islam once and for all."

The guy that wrote the article is muslim. Did you read it?

"The response by Muslims to the cartoons is absolutely pathetic and depressing but revealing. The reason Muslims are responding with anger and threats of violence is because most Muslims live in countries where democracy and freedom of speech are alien concepts."

" When will Muslims wake up and realize that their intolerance of opposing opinions is keeping them in the dark ages? When will Muslims realize that respect must be earned and not forced through violence and coercion? When will Muslims realize that individual liberty and freedom of expression are fundamental human rights?"

The answer to the above is - when they are ensconced with their 72 virgins. I agree with the author's hope -

The Free Muslims Coalition hopes that the answer to all these questions is soon.

The Sequence of Arab Rationale

I bet many of you were shocked at the reaction of Arabs/Muslims over the Danish cartoons affair. I am sure most of you come from countries that are used to see authors, newspapers, etc publish stuff that are offensive to a particular religion (The Da Vinci Code book is a good example). Below I'll try to explain the sequence of how we think so that you might get a better understanding of what this whole outrage is all about. Yet promise that you won't burst laughting at our way of thinking and remember than you once thought in the same manner. You know, when you had your dark ages and stuff!

Rationale 1

Danish paper publishes offensive cartoons ....> Danish government does nothing to the paper citing freedom of speech .....> Danish government failed to defend Islam .....> Danish government hates Islam...> Boycott Denmark

Rationale 2

Danish paper publishes offensive cartoons ...> Paper published cartoons because it hates Islam ...> Danish people did nothing and support paper's right to publish the cartoons....> Danes hate Islam just like all Westerners ....> Boycott Denmark

Rationale 3

Danish paper publishes offensive cartoons ...> Danes are Christian and they have a cross on their flag ...> And we know Christians want to destroy Islam ...> boycott Denmark

Rationale 4

Danish paper publishes offensive cartoons ...> Our mainstream media expresses our sentiments especially in matters that concern religion (i.e. no Arab paper would ever publish an article that is critical of Islam)...> This must be how the entire Danish population view the prophet Mohammed ...> Boycott Denmark

Just because I am so angry at the above rationales, I urge everyone to
Buy
Danish

I'm a little late to this party (it only takes about 3 hrs to do that here on FR) but has the NYT published this cartoon on any page?
