Damascus Airport is the crux for jihadists entering Syria to infiltrate into Iraq. We should take it out as a friendly warning to Assad.

Heh, bet they're "advisors", like Cubans and Russians in Vietnam. A lot of people think the "Col. Toon" that Duke Cunningham shot down was really a Russian "volunteer".

And why is it that we continue to allow Syria to maintain a sanctuary for terrorist?

I wonder if the Iraqi soldiers we train will maintain any of the brutish tendencies (cutting out tongues, chopping off hands, public hangings, etc) common to that part of the world?
In some cases one almost hopes so.

We've needed to send a couple divisions of Marines into Syria for the past two years. It's obvious,? 11 of the 15 ?, that the insurgency is made up largely of foreigners (i.e. Syrians, Jordanians, Saudis, Iranians, etc.). And Asaad knows full well what the implications are. He is probably boasting that the Presidents threat of retaliation was just an excuse to get Saddam and nothing else. He needs more of a wake up call than just the airport, believe me.

Iraqi intel, Iraqi troops in a former hotbed of insurgency. Foreign terrorists. They'll be on Iraqi TV next week, one suspects.
These could, of course, be Syrian jihadists and nothing more. And I could be a long-lost Romanov princess. My guess, though, is that Syrian intelligence is wondering who is going to spill what.

So, then; are the Iraqis doing the questioning?
