We prayed for her again today. Well, that explains it, then. This one is going much better than her first surgery. She is walking up and down the halls; she is standing up very well on her own, using a walker. Her appetite is much improved, and she is only taking her pain meds (Oxycontin) twice daily.
She had the bandage removed tonight, and it looked very good...no details, too gross, but it looked good. At least, that's what the nurse said!
As soon as the internist is comfortable with the dosage of coumadin she is getting, she will come home. We think that's tomorrow...we'll know first thing in the AM, right after the 4AM draw.
She's itching to come home and lay in her own bed, use her own shower, eat at her own table...but she's stuck with my cooking! Oh well 3 out of 4 isn't all that bad!

In winter, Humpback whales calve here and in Maui. Whale watching is a big tourist attraction but boats have to hold off at certain distances from mothers and calves or be fined. The whales can do as they please.
Sea traffic accidents like the one you described happen....whales usually know everything that's going on around them.
But, hey....when ya gotta breech......

In a pinch, you could always just "cater" her meals. (Go get fast food, restaurant meals to go, or deli food.) ;)
She sounds like one lucky lady to have you there to help!
Prayers continue....
