In the past few days, Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department deputies and their families have received threats to stay off the Rio Grande. Sheriff Arvin West told ABC-7 Thursday morning, before departing for Houston that the Mexican military is behind all of this.
Sheriff West said, "There is no doubt in my mind -- from the first time going back to a couple of years ago and every time in between --- it's the Mexican military. In a nutshell, everybody's been trying to tell everybody that they were here...they've been here ...[and] they come here quite often, regularly."

Without changing drug laws all it would do is drive up drug prices and increase their profits. Look I understand how many here think about this but there are no easy answers.
In the event people start getting killed by Mexican military, either in a large number or high profile, I don't think your premise would hold.
Want to see some spines twist in DC really quick? Let the rage of US citizens from such an event start talking about holding those in DC in a very personal manner responsible, and the tune will change. Not to mention a very quiet but sullen number of Amercians who will cheer the minute action is truly and honestly taken to rectify matters.
Since Mexico's said they're 'integrating' with the US, let it be on our terms. We take their oil.
dam straight. Mexican "soldiers" would never stand a chance against the M230 or various 70mm rockets hehe.
Can't believe the Bush administration is so lax on our southern border. They will get more agressive because of this.
He should have done it 5 years ago.
"Well tell me are you ready for a war with Mexico?"
You bet!
Like an L.A. Sheriff friend of mine said about 15 years ago:
Let us take them out, let me know what day and we'll get it done after lunch and before dinner.
No way, wipe them out and seal the border with the military with orders to shoot on sight.
KFOX out of El Paso got these clowns on tape today

God has to do something.
I don't think many here hate the Mexican people. I think what you are hearing is absolute frustration at a border out of control and no relief in sight. I find myself thinking horrible thoughts about how to close the border. It is just frustration, don't read more into than that. I have lived here many years and have seen a friendly border turn into a war zone. I do not think the citizens of another country should look at our country and our citizens as a solution to their problems. It is unfair to our people and if things don't drastically change we will end up in the same boat they are. You can only save a drowning man if you don't get sucked under yourself.
Illegal aliens in the US have long been granted a degree of defacto legality. For sure, they are illegal as they enter but once they get to their destination, they acheive this defacto legal status. They are also largely accepted by society if they contribute to society.
There are exceptions to this defacto legal status. If an illegal gets in trouble, the defacto legal status is revoked. When there is an economic recession, public opinion turns against the illegal If you will recall that during the 90s boom there was huge numbers of illegals entering and there was very little opposition. When the recession hit, that all changed. This same cycle can be seen in the recession of the early 80s and again in the early 90s.
You are also ignoring the fact that illegal immigration has long been a route to becoming legal.
There is a demographic reality underway, Hispanics will become a major componant of the US population and that fact is not many years away. Those that cannot accept this reality will have a difficult time.
"Will they work cheap while they're here?" U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The online posting at KFOX said that the Sheriff had been told by his counterpart that they were indeed Mexican soldiers.
I'm wondering if the cover story is that they're investigating last week's incursion?
Or is the 'investigation' their cover? More likely the latter.
At the rate we're going, Mexico will annex us.
