Bush said in his SOTU address that Islam was hijacked by a perverted "few."

Can anyone provide a source for reasonable actual estimates regarding the populations of Muslim terrorists currently active in the world?

I know there isn't a source that will tell me how many Muslims are enablers of these terrorists, unfortunately -- although I expect that number has to be north of 50%.

But at least, I'd like to see some estimates on the number of violently radical fundamentalist Muslims in the world today.

Can anyone help?

The gross number is immaterial. It's the number of active terrorists.
Start by reading works on terrorism. Networks and Netwars will get you started. There's a host of blogs with regular updates on all this. You'll just have to get off your a$$ TO find them
YOUR focus is all wrong. Who is really trying to erase the free world? ...this might get you going in the right direction. Sheer numbers just do not count.

Wow! What a naive statement!

In the Israeli-Arab conflict alone, since 2000, about 3800 Islamic Swine have died. For a four year period ending in 2004 there had been 536 terrorist attacks inside Israel and/or the so-called "Occupied Territories." 135 of these have been successful. When the Isarelis kill Islamic Swine, they tend to be those who might commit terrorism. Even granting that 50% were collateral damage, this means about 2000 dead terrorists. Who knows how many live ones are left? And this is in the vicinity of Israel alone. We have had our own as have Spain, England, Austrailia, Iraq, and other places too numerous to mention. Anyone who estimates the number of Islamic Swine who would willingly sacrifice themselves to kill ten or more of us infidels in the thousands is seriously underestimating the problem. Millions is more like it, and sadly it could be tens of millions or even more.

We also wanted to show that, by even taking data from General Sources, like CIA Fact Sheet, we can easily establish that fact that total Muslim Population in 2006 is 1.6 billion which is far greater than currently estimated 1.2 or 1.3 billion. The Christian population is about 2.1 billion Hindu about 1 billion. Both Hindu and Muslim are growing faster than Christian.

I agree it can't be known exactly. But someone somewhere, like in the DOD, must have compliled all of the available evidence and arrived at some type of ballpark estimates.
