The president went to Nashville, Tennessee, today, to give a speech on his 2006 agenda.
He signed a proclamation in honor of American Heart Month.
There are pick up photos from last night of Associate Justice Alito's ceremonial swearing in, and from the president's State of the Union speech.
Welcome to Sanity Island!!!!!

basically just so he could go ahead and start voting. I think it was so he could attend the SOTU with the SCOTUS and sit up front in his NEW ROBE right in front of the demonRATS! ;*)

Long story, short version. My stepfather broke them. My mother let him. Treatment was not allowed. I still have a lot of difficulty walking any great distance. About 15 years ago I started bruising under the arch of one foot and it felt like I had a saw inside my foot so my doctor X-rayed it and there was a bone chip floating in the arch, about the size of a dime. That was what was cutting my foot internally and causing the bruising and pain. The doctor said that because the bone chip had broken away, it would dissolve into my system eventually (he was right), but the other structural damage is not currently fixable by any method I know of. The less rigid a shoe upper is, the less pain it causes. I discovered early that tipping my weight forward via wearing heels was not a very smart thing to do.

I'm so sorry about your bad toothache, Mike. I hate dental problems! I broke one of my upper molars the other day and am looking for a new dentist in my new city -- this will be my fourth crown. At least it doesn't hurt at this stage. I missed reading what was causing your toothache.

I always think of that too when I try to reason my way out of exercising. I've found since losing weight, I can wear heels without pain now. I still don't wear the super high ones, but medium height.

It got worse. Then she died when I was 16. She had a horrible life. She is one of the reasons I love the Lord so much. He stepped in more times than I can count to help me. He's still doing clean ups on aisle seven, aisle nine, etc. ;-)

Well, my exercise hasn't touched my weight, since my metabolism ground to a halt, and I defy basic biology. :)
BUT, I know that I'm healthy, and the last time I went to the Dr, my resting pulse was 48! I'm REAL proud of that!

When I was losing weight (gained from some migraine meds I had to take), I found it extremely helpful to go to a gym and take advantage of all their equipment. I almost always went three times a week and built a lot of muscle. It felt wonderful. Getting myself in gear after working all day was sometimes really a chore but it was worth it.

Pumps have heels and no straps over the top of the shoe. Here's an example.

Well, I'm sad about your mother, but praise the Lord for what it's done for you.
As for the 'clean-up,' He keeps doing that for ALL of us, no matter how comfortable our lives have been. That old nature doesn't let go easily....

Thats a great resting pulse. I've been doing treadmill and pilates. I've also been on Atkins for the past week. It's funny but the scale hasn't shown much, but my clothes are looser, so I guess that means I'm building muscle. As long as I can be between a size six and eight by mid summer I don't care what the scale says.

Never had a toothache you must be one of those lucky people blessed with good teeth.
I think toothache is one of the worse things as there is very little you can do about it, pain killers sort of work but not really if it an abscess then antibiotics help a bit as well.
You can buy gels etc from the chemists but you have to be careful with them because they can damage your gums especially if used long term.

They are the shoe version of the little black dress -- a safe choice, very versatile.

**The hardest part is getting started.**
Definitely. I keep putting it off. But I've decided I'm going to call tomorrow to see when I can do the orientation. And then I'll have to figure out when I can go during the week.
