The president went to Nashville, Tennessee, today, to give a speech on his 2006 agenda.
He signed a proclamation in honor of American Heart Month.
There are pick up photos from last night of Associate Justice Alito's ceremonial swearing in, and from the president's State of the Union speech.
Welcome to Sanity Island!!!!!

Yesterday was the private swearing in...basically just so he could go ahead and start voting. Today was the ceremonial one.

Alito got choked up a bit while thanking his law clerks during his 15 years on the court of appeals.

After listening to his remarks, I have to say Alito seems a very humble, direct, polite, good man. No airs, no conceit. Anchored on the right foundation.
He thanked all those who prayed for him and his family during the nomination process and said the prayers were powerful and palpable.
