There are 1375 Parties nationwide, and WE are the biggest and the best! Tonight, President Bush, in his STATE of the UNION speech, will discuss America's leadership in the world and share his vision to lead America forward. To seize opportunities here at home, the President will outline the policies needed for the American people to continue to compete in the global economy.
Earlier today, the President sat with Supreme Court nominee, Samuel Alito in the Roosevelt Room at the White House, and watched the Senate confirmation vote as they approved his nomination 58-42, fulfilling one of President Bush's most significant campaign pledges by placing on the Supreme Court another justice who will interpret the Constitution as the Founders intended, and not legislate from the bench. THANK you, President Bush! (Justice Alito was sworn in at 12:07 this afternoon as the 110th Supreme Court Justice)
President Bush also released a statement regarding the death of widow of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr, Coretta Scott King and met with TV reporters in the White House to give them a glimpse of his State of the Union, emphasizing his optimism for the future of America. He also continued to work on this speech for tonight.
The economy is strong, we are winning our War on Terror and it is a GOOD DAY in America, and a GREAT time to be a Bush-bot!
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose............ let's PARTY!!!!!!!!!
I hit the mute button as soon as they made that crack. I had my thumb on the button, knowing it was coming :)
Oh, but you're wrong! Clinton found his legacy - just not the one he wanted us to know about.
I agree with you, Mike. And I will add that I'm so happy to be here on this thread with Americans like you, and NOT with the cretins that Brit Hume has chosen for his "round table" tonight.
Their remarks, ALL OF THEM, have been totally disgraceful.
And you won't find me criticising Brit Hume very often.
Exactly what I thought. He thought the speech was "conciliatory" and "non-confrontational" - guess he missed all the "zingers".
Fred Barnes seems to have made different observations from mine as well.
WE LOVE OUR PRESIDENT!!
Me either, but I bet he will still be involved. Just like Rummy and Mr. C...it's in their blood. I was just telling my Mom that, today...on the way home. I know that our VP wants to go back and fly fish...but...I don't know...it's in their blood to be good citizens. ---Like my hubby, for example. We caught two terrorists (long story), he's always helping me to know what to look for, how to react, and how to be more aware ...it's the police background in him...it doesn't go away. Thank goodness.
Been over at the Live Thread for the SOTU
There are tons of screen shot photos from the speech
if you want to collect any.
Well yeah :) I should've said he's searching for a legacy to be proud of.
As the former POTUS said, "Is that ah leg I see?"
You can send me a long FReepmail on that one. ;)
The best thing is to be here and focus HERE with fellow citizens who offer their loyalty to THIS COUNTRY and to their President who is one of our greatest ever.
oooo, mystery, the flag with fireworks is awesome!
I LOVE your fireworks!!
What a day . . . so much to celebrate: the President's inpired and courageous SOTU speech; the confirmation of Justice Scalia; the confirmation of Fed Chair Bernacke (?); and on a much, much smaller scale, the victory of my son's basketball team over their arch rival!!
Thank you for being a Citizen and not a Spectator! You are a Great American. Keep up the good work. One day, the rest will come to understand what you already know and have the ability to see.
'We love our President'
YES, WE DO!!!!!
DEMOCRAT RESPONSE.....
Citing Missionary work as a young man....Coretta Scott King....we mourn her passing....no higher calling than serving others.....our federal gov't should serve other people....this admin poor management.....fam's in gulf coast see that as they see to rebuild their lives.....soldiers as they try t rebuild nation....some of our leaders seem to have forgotten....there is a BETTER WAY....focusing on service....bringing people together ....how we earn ranking of best mgd state....you have a right to expect that your gov't to deliver results....sorry, I can't transcribe this tripe any more.....
Tim Kaine's response now. I'm ignoring him. I muted just after he said something about being proud to give the response on behalf of his "commonwealth" and I shouted at the TV that they VOTED for President Bush!
