There are 1375 Parties nationwide, and WE are the biggest and the best! Tonight, President Bush, in his STATE of the UNION speech, will discuss America's leadership in the world and share his vision to lead America forward. To seize opportunities here at home, the President will outline the policies needed for the American people to continue to compete in the global economy.
Earlier today, the President sat with Supreme Court nominee, Samuel Alito in the Roosevelt Room at the White House, and watched the Senate confirmation vote as they approved his nomination 58-42, fulfilling one of President Bush's most significant campaign pledges by placing on the Supreme Court another justice who will interpret the Constitution as the Founders intended, and not legislate from the bench. THANK you, President Bush! (Justice Alito was sworn in at 12:07 this afternoon as the 110th Supreme Court Justice)
President Bush also released a statement regarding the death of widow of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr, Coretta Scott King and met with TV reporters in the White House to give them a glimpse of his State of the Union, emphasizing his optimism for the future of America. He also continued to work on this speech for tonight.
The economy is strong, we are winning our War on Terror and it is a GOOD DAY in America, and a GREAT time to be a Bush-bot!
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose............ let's PARTY!!!!!!!!!
I agree with every single word. Yesterday there was a monumental shift of the tide BACK to the values that this nation was founded upon.
To God be ALL the glory! And I thank President Bush for being HIS vessel to make it happen.
(Missed you at the party last night...........did you get a party favor? ;)
This was a GREAT one.
It was pointed out on that other thread that the Gov of TN is a democrat. If Frist left his Senate seat, he would be replaced by a Dem.
That, added to everything else, makes it make NO sense that this rumor is true.
NUTS!
I missed the party but not the SOTU speech!
AWESOME!!!!
I'm just here for a few minutes, because I have to do all the work that I was SUPPOSED to be doing yesterday when I worked on and posted this thread.
(It helps if the prof knows what she's teaching. ;)
'Frist...is not presidential material...'
agree! i pray there is absolutely no truth to these rumors. i hate to say this but...if Frist is our 2008 candidate, it's almost a given that the next President will be a Dim. ewww, the thought makes me sick.
;o)
Hmmmmm....rumor about Frist taking over as VP....hope not....but silver lining could be.....someone with more B*lls in the Senate!!! He'll never be President.
Thanks for the thread. I missed the party, but I watched the speech, and then was able to re-live it through this thread. What a bonus!
The only way I can even bear the commentary is as it's filtered thoughr FR.
What a STRONG speech. One of his best, I think.
(take that all you dumb "pundits"-you know who you are)
just wanted to say that mr. george w. bush did an amazing job on his speech last night!!
we luv ya dubya!!

Can I be on your ping list for these daily photos?
Thanks.
And upon closer examination, it gets even stronger.
GretchenM.......keeper of the list.........will you addd navynucmom to our DPL??
Welcome navymom! As an Army Mom, I'm glad to have you on board..........so to speak. ;)
I sat there with my jaw hanging open for most of it. I think what I admire most about the President is that he has the courage of his convictions, and acts accordingly. That's the best indicator of great character that I can think of.
A good, strong man of character.
He was funny, confident, serious about the issues .. and all off the cuff and extemporaneous. It was unbelievable. I've never seen him so "out there" and so on his game, and he had a wonderfully receptive audience, which just seemed to fuel his excitement and spur him on more.
Several times, I thought it was the end .. and then he would think of something else .. it was great. Hope we can find a replay .. I'm out of breath because he was so hyped and breathless and into it, that I need a rest now. If fact, at one point, he was on such a roll, he was out of breath and said "Whew!" LOL
Yesterday on Special Report, Brit Hume said he (and other media types) had lunch with W (a few hours before the SOTU) and he'd never seen Bush so fiery. He said W had toned down the fire for his speech.
Wonder what's behind that?
Thanks for the report, Star.
I caught the end of it but I forgot he was speaking again today so I missed most of it. Hope CSPAN has it online later.
Hope Lynne is OK it was mentioned on another thread that she did not look well.
Maybe being the VP's birthday on Monday they had a busy weekend and it suddenly caught up on her.
