Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

' Who cares what "the media" says. Ginsberg's vote counts no more than Alito's. '
I agree. It's just interesting to point out how they are the willing accomplices of the left.

I'm sure Kennedy's staff have written up a lovely little rant for ol' Porky to read.
I tried counting the "er"'s he said yesterday, but they were practically every third syllable, so I couldn't keep up.
Regardless, it makes me laugh to watch him stumble through a speech he obviously is reading for the first time.

Roberts should swear him in. He is, after all, the Chief Justice (heh, heh). It's going to be a great scene.
Long live Ronald Reagan for giving us such people. And also a nod to Richard Nixon for his leadership in starting so many people on their careers that influenced the path to this day.

Let's be honest...Up until the last 15 minutes yesterday, 95% of us on the thread were all sweating it, convinced that the Dems were somehow going to pull it off..I never thought it was in doubt, but at the very end I thought they were going to have Kennedy keel over and have him rushed out on a stretcher to delay the vote. He might have been willing to go along with it if he had thought of it.
Ever since the Gang of Fourteen took the filibuster off the table many moons ago, we have been in the lead on judge picks, that's when the Dems lost their hold. And it was the "moderate" Democrats who said "NO" to the Democrat moonbats when that agreement was reached.
Just because the 'Rats hailed it as a great victory at the time, didn't make it so. Any judicial nominee that gets filibustered from here on out doesn't have the votes to win an up-or-down vote anyway.

"Alito, and Roberts, should wear the negative votes they got as badges of honor.."
It was so much fun to watch these two men keep their cool and let the democrats show the world how big of fools that they are.
I especially liked Roberts. It seemed to me that he he practiced every possible question for 12 hours a day over a 10=year period. He is far more intelligent than any of those turkeys.
Alito carried himself as a gentleman. Of course, he is intelligent, but his demeanor really made the American public take a good look at the likes of Kennedy.
So........................................ sweet!

For the ugly, I have to nominate my own senator, Barbara Mikulski. Not a major player in these hearings, but TV screens shatter across the nation when she appears.
