Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?
Mrs. BOXER. Mr. President, I was listening to the Senator from South Carolina (DeMINT). I thought he was going to make some comments about the vote that just took place on one of the most important issues facing the Senate. Instead, he launched into an attack on Senator HARRY REID.
Shakespeare once said something to this effect: When someone acts that way, he is protesting too much. So Senator Reid must have hit a chord with the Senator from South Carolina, and there are reasons for it.
But I really think the quote applies more to Boxer than DeMINT, after all "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
Thanks for that link!
Alioto Children ,...
... btw , I Googled ,Kennedy Alioto official record Senate
... I'm trying to find Fat Teddy Wetbrain's misspeaking,or...
... has this been corrected, redacted,or expunged from the Official Record of the Senate ????
CORZINE ??? He got to vote too ??
LOL. I didn't make the point prominent enough, I suppose, that the list is a combination of data on the Alito cloture vote, and the Roberts confirmation vote.
I do not know, but that makes sense. C-Span 2 has just gone to the Seante.
"We have doubled the number of deaths from asthma this year than we had five years ago, doubled the deaths for children.
I wonder why that is?
I don't know what you tell the mother when they see the children having that intensity.
We pass laws, the president sign them, they go to the court in terms of interpretation, and where will this nominee come out?
Will he come on out for that mother who has a child that's got asthma
or that parent who's seeing the pollution that's taken place in a pond
-- in a lake
-- and whose child has been affected by those kinds of poison? "
Keep in mind that this miscreant is talking about children, the children that he so cavalierly supports killing in the womb!
Outstanding post!
I could tell she absolutely had a memory lapse and got all tangled up in that attempted quote. LOL
Mmmmm, let me taste your tears.....yum! They're delicious! Your angst is so scrumptious!
Yesterday's Congressional Record is up ...
Senate - January 30, 2006 <- Inhofe had a good talk after the cloture vote
And that there is your problem. Weep quietly until the moment to reflect passes. Then renew your strength by convincing yourself that actually you won and will win even bigger next time. Then pull that (D) lever one more time, in hopes that, somehow, this time will be different. This is your selective reality, this is your life.
Just figured Corzine found a way to put in his vote this time too.
BTW, I wanted to let you know that I sure do appreciate your knowledge of all these legal senate processes.. I've learned so much reading your posts. Thank you !!
LOL! Bravo!
Reid asking for a full hour to filibuster and throw a temper tantrum.
I love the hysteria of the left. It means WE'RE WINNING!
I would think it would be CJ Roberts...but it doesn't really matter. ;-)
