SNOWE DECRIES FILIBUSTER THREAT AGAINST ALITO
Contact: Antonia Ferrier (202) 224-5344 Monday, January 30, 2006
WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME) today decried threats from prominent Senate Democrats to mount a filibuster preventing a vote on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Snowe issued the following statement:
While I have not made any decision yet on an up-or-down vote on the nominee itself, I find it regrettable that there are those who are trying to resurrect a filibuster even as there is clearly nothing in the record that constitutes extraordinary circumstances. This unfortunate effort only serves to further politicize and polarize this process when this should be a time of careful deliberation based on the facts of the nominees record and testimony.

day late and a dollar short.
This is just a dog and pony show now.
She is objecting just to give cover to the democrats in order to help them look agressive.
This is total BS, and just the contry club senate in action.

Love the first quote which essentially says this: "Hi, even though I haven't figured out a way to weasel out of taking a position on Judge Alito, I think it's really mean that many of my dear Democratic colleagues are suggesting a filibuster on his nomination. In other words, I'm a tower of Jello, and proud of it."

The dems can't wait to release their nekid sex tape of Olympia if she decides to support Alito. If not true, then she really is a b*tch.

While I have not made any decision yet on an up-or-down vote on the nominee itself,This must be how she's going to justify voting no on Alito, on the grounds that only human beings can be on the SCOTUS and Sam Alito isn't one.
Doesn't anyone friggin' proofread stuff any more?

It's another Snowe job. She is building and out to vote for Alito but will only do so if absolutely necessary.

While I have not made any decision yet on an up-or-down vote on the nominee itself.....Yet she still contemplates voting the same way and becomes associated with those who want to filibuster. How spineless of her.
