CARACAS, Venezuela Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who just announced that she is weighing a run for Senate, plans to protest again outside President Bush's Texas ranch, Venezuela's president said today with Sheehan by his side.
Hugo Chavez, his arm around Sheehan's shoulders, told a group of activists that Sheehan had told him that during Holy Week, in April, "she is going to put up her tent again in front of Mr. Danger's ranch."
"She invited me to put up a tent. Maybe I'll put up my tent also," Chavez said, to applause from activists invited to his weekly broadcast on the final day of the leftist World Social Forum.
Sheehan, whose 24-year-old soldier son, Casey, was killed in Iraq in 2004, thanked Chavez for "supporting life and peace" and she was impressed by his sincerity.
"He said, 'Why don't I run for president?" she said. "I just laughed."
Sheehan, who lives in Berkeley, Calif., said Saturday that she is strongly considering challenging Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein because the lawmaker will not support calls to immediately bring the troops home.
Sheehan, 48, said running in the Democratic primary in June would help "bring attention to all the peace candidates in the country."
Sheehan, who was visiting Venezuela for the six-day forum along with other anti-war and anti-globalization activists, told The Associated Press that she decide whether to run after talking with her three adult children in California.
Sheehan accused Feinstein of being out of touch with Californians on the war in Iraq. Feinstein's campaign manager said the senator did not support Bush and felt she had been misled by his administration.
Ms. Sheenan's 15 minutes will be coming to a close very soon. You just don't call out Democrats like DiFi and Hill and still get on the news.
So this is the 2nd trip she's made to see Chavez in Venezuela? This woman has an Evita-like complex...
I never thought I'd say this, but I feel sorry for Chavez.
I really find this hard to believe.
Will the Democrats put some distance between Sheehan for her association with Chavez?
Well, if Ramsey Clark is doing defense duties for Saddam Hussein I doubt it. The Democrats embrace tyranny anywhere, including in this country.
Hey, if Sheehan runs, do you think Senator Kennedy will endorse her?
Evita she ain't. She's not even evil dictator wife material.
The radicals have more ideas than a June bride. And, believe me, they're so purpose-driven and radical that Hillary and Sci-Fi don't deter them at all.

I think she might be the hunchback of Evita and Chavez is the pock marks of Pancho Villa.... Thank God she cannot have anymore children.
the most hilarious thing is when laura ingraham does her cindy sheehan impression......
What a pathetic joke. Even in California, she's too far left to be electable.
She's delusional. There isn't a state in this country that would elect her to the Senate. The only way she could win a seat in the Senate is if the Democrat Liberals bus in Canadians to cast ballots.
If Teddy thought Sellout-Sheehan had half a chance at win in some radical Dem district he would throw her support.
one aspect of this worth mentioning is that the media CREATED her as a public persona. If she had not been given daily coverage for weeks, rather than a more proportionate amount, none of these folks would give her the time of day.
The grief of a mother gone way off the deep end who is subsequently used by others for their own agenda has no relevance to making US policy.
Well now... that explains everything.
17 posts and not one joke about Chavez pitching a tent yet.
Cindy is an ignorant, foul-mouthed nincompoop. Just tonight Drudge replayed the old tape in which Chris Matthews had her on his program and suggested she run for Congress and praised her insights! The great thing is that this moron is a beautiful caricature of the far left in this country - - conservatives couldn't even pay someone enough to play this part! Think of it -- we have our own buffoon lampooning the left. It's wonderful! We should support her campaign and encourage her to keep on talking right up to '06. It's great opera buffa!
Good way of looking at it..I do , however, have real trouble looking at her face. I get the urge to smack her silly everytime I see it..They used to hang traitors , right ?
