Glock makes a .45. If they'd add on the stuff the military is asking for, I'd think that would be the gun of choice. Glocks are nearly indestructable unless you decide to run them through a bandsaw or something.

I tend to think less highly of the Glock .45 and .40 s. There have been disturbing reports of a fair number of Kb's in those calibers. (Kb's = Kaboom!!!). The probable cause is lack of case support near the case web. Glock has made at least 3 alterations on the Quiet to the design of the barrel to address the issue but has refused to publicly acknowledge that there is a problem. I only know of 1 Kb in a glock 9mm. The 9mm glock barrel design is definitely Superior to the design of the .45 and .40 barrels. Incidentally these are factory ammo Kb's not with reloads.

I've had both a Glock M30 and the larger M21. I loved them both, but speaking as a former Infantry Captain, I still take the H&K USP due to the ability ot carry cocked and locked OR DA hammer down. Just a little bit more versatile.

I am looking to get a rifle next, going to try to head over to the gun store today to get some magazines (the ones you read) and browse at rifles. =)

One problem with Glocks: Bulky, cumbersome handles.
Other than that, a superior weapon.

It has ho "re-strike" capability. That is, if the round doesn't fire on the first trigger pull, you cannot just pull the trigger again (in a Glock) to try to fire the round unless you recycle the action, only true DAO or SA/DA handguns have that capability. The Sig or HK is much better suited to a military application.
