I tend to think less highly of the Glock .45 and .40 s. There have been disturbing reports of a fair number of Kb's in those calibers. (Kb's = Kaboom!!!). The probable cause is lack of case support near the case web. Glock has made at least 3 alterations on the Quiet to the design of the barrel to address the issue but has refused to publicly acknowledge that there is a problem. I only know of 1 Kb in a glock 9mm. The 9mm glock barrel design is definitely Superior to the design of the .45 and .40 barrels. Incidentally these are factory ammo Kb's not with reloads.

I hope you are not getting this information from "The Gun Zone" I have heard of kb's on 1911s, HK, Sig, they all do it, I've never seen a final report as to why it did it, always armchair QBs reading some first claim with no evidence to support it then running off at the mouth to everyone that will listen that this particular gun is worse than the rest. Portland's PD issue with Glock .45s as one example, I have never read a follow up that stated the actual findings of what happened, yet I go to local gun shops and hear salespeople claim Glocks are bad because of that one incident of which they know no more than the weapon failed.

Please, stop passing these myths off as fact. An unsupported chamber will not cause a Kb. It might cause a case failure if the ammo is loaded too hot.
Glock has not made any design changes to the barrels of the 40's or 45's. They did make a locking lug change to the G19 barrel because of problems NYC was having with reliability. But not because of Kb's.

Glock has made at least 3 alterations on the Quiet to the design of the barrel to address the issue but has refused to publicly acknowledge that there is a problem. This sounds remarkably like the now world-famous Glock rail design/manufacturing flaws on their E-series serial number guns in 2002. They kept that pretty quiet as well, only informing law enforcement agencies about it. I guess the prospect of a cop using a Glock getting killed due to a FTF as a result of this flaw -- and the deep pockets lawsuit that could have ensued -- got their attention.
If I hadn't heard about this from an LE officer in the neighborhood, I still wouldn't know about it.
That's Glock for you. When you're the big dog on the block, you don't have to be accountable to your customers, I guess.
