Kerry Plays The Race Card
National Review ^ | 01/27 | Wendy Long

Posted on 01/29/2006 10:41:36 AM PST by george76

Democrats — at least those seeking the Democratic nomination for president and those who are desperate for money from extremist Left deep pockets —

are trying to "out-Liberal" each other on the Alito nomination, even when it is clear a bipartisan majority of senators intend to make the Judge Alito "Justice Alito" in just a few days.

John Kerry, after launching the first international filibuster from the slopes of the Swiss Alps with the help of Ted Kennedy, gave a speech earlier on the Senate floor that rivals Kennedy’s 1987 smear of Judge Bork.

Kennedy claimed that in “Judge Bork’s America,” blacks would “sit at segregated lunch counters.”

Kerry’s Race Card goes like this: In Judge Alito’s America, “it’s okay to shoot . . . a fleeing, unarmed . . . 15 year-old African American . . . in the back of the head.”

Kerry, the political loser, is acting like George Wallace after his 1958 defeat in his first race for Governor.

Kerry has apparently decided that he will not be “out-smeared” and is reaching for the high-water mark for smearing judicial candidates previously held by Ted Kennedy.

But Justice Alito will be seated on the Supreme Court. The distortions and division being sown by John Kerry and Ted Kennedy will come back to haunt them, and the Democratic party.

I would say John Kerry has no shame, but you probably know that already.

BTW. In Kerry's world it was OK to shoot an unarmed Vietnamese teenager in the back with a military weapon.

Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., also announced Friday he is “leaning in favor of voting for” the conservative judge.

“It is clear to me that a majority of the American people and the people I represent support his confirmation,” he said after meeting with Alito in his office.

"Ah, Lovey and I are ever so busy these days, what with the Senate, World Economic Summits, and of course Davos. One simply cannot come to Switzerland and not make an appearance at Davos. However, even with my Very Important schedule, I still like to take a minute to tell you, the little people, about that terribly dangerous man, Justice Alito... Now, I really must get back to my skiing... What?... What 'lift ticket'?... Do you know who I am?"

This is the single most disgusting thing I have ever heard from a Senator. EVER. His office will be hearing from me. This behavior is NOT acceptable on the Senate floor of my nation. Not now. Not ever.

John Kerry, if he wasn't on the cusp already, has just proven that he is a disgrace of a human being.

I have a question: How many minority candidates will be nominated for statewide 2006 races in each party? Are the Dems putting up anybody? Maybe Mfume in Maryland. Maybe.

"In the Silver Star incident, John Kerry's citation reflects that he charged into a numerically superior force, and into intense fire," O'Neill told ABC News in an August 2004 interview. "But the actual facts are that there was a single kid there who had fired a rocket, who popped up, and John Kerry with his gunboat, with or without a number of troops, depending on who you talk to, plopped in front of the kid. The (Vietnamese) kid was wounded in the legs by machine gun fire, and as he ran off, John Kerry jumped off the boat and shot the kid in the back."

What he meant to say was "It's OK for me to shoot a fleeing unarmed 18-yr old Vietnamese in the back."

None ? ...and...

The DUmmies do not give power to the Black Caucus in Congress.

It is amazing that the Black Caucus accepts their token role.

What is it with the people in Mass?

I would venture a guess the two Senators from MA have put mind altering drugs into the water supplies!! No other answer unless the MA border stops all sane people from crossing into the state.

Great point. That men like Kerry and Kennedy sit in jugdement of, and judge harshly a man like Alito is simply criminal.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid admitted on Friday he and fellow Democrats lack the votes to block President George W. Bush's nomination of conservative appeals judge Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Everyone knows there is not enough votes to support a filibuster," Reid said, referring to the procedural roadblock that some Democrats said should be used to put off a vote on Alito.

The Nevada Democrat said, however, he would vote for such a measure to at least send a message of opposition to the nominee.

That vote will come on Monday with final confirmation set for Tuesday.

ROFL!!! International filibuster -- that's a great way to describe it that shows just how ridiculous it (and he) is.
