Bob Woodward and photographer injured in IED attack.
Kind of reminds one of the scene from Die Hard. Love to see Bruce Willis standing over Woodruff sneering "Welcome to the party Pal".
ping to 452. Somebody else had requested updates, yet I do not remember who it was.
Do tell.
LOL!
They dont despise all of them
Ever read any Michael Yon?

They love this guy, and rightfully so.

I feel bad for the guy, but it would be nice to see the media show similar concern for every wounded soldier or Marine.
Both will survive. They are stable and out of surgery.
Actually, some are. Especially those demanding proof that the forthcoming ABC News report was going to be an anti-Bush, anti-war hit piece.
The proof exists in everything ABC News has ever done regarding this president and this conflict.
And that justifies you wishing harm and death to Woodruff and Vogt? Your parents must be so proud.....
Whatever.
Truth be told, I really don't give a rat's ass.
Doesn't affect me one way or the other.
When I become affected on a personal basis, then I'll re-evalutate my comprehension.
Until then, the warm-and-fuzzy, kumbaya-chanting, birkenstock silliness can stay in California.
Ooops!
Damn. More bigotry from me.
Poor, poor, pitiful me.
Oh, wait, is that bigotry, also, to call myself such?
Now I'm really confused.
When you have the slightest shred of a clue about this injured man's past behavior as a lawyer, you may freely criticize it, if the facts justify it.
Why, thank you kindly. I'll keep that in mind.
You have a nice day, counselor.
Yeah, the multi-ton turret was blown clean away. No small feat.
Thank you for your service. Perhaps you'll come by the FReeper Canteen sometime. We love to see our heroes stop in for a visit.
A little late to the thread and a lot appalled at the rhetoric of some freepers.
Nowhere on this thread did the poster in question wish harm or death upon anyone.
Making false changes against individuals under a cloak of righteous indignation should be as unwelcome as the derision, denigration and blind hatred you spoke of.
Excuse me, that's "charges".
LMAO!
There is talk now that it was gunfire that got the reporters. From www.heraldnewsdaily.com:
WASHINGTON - ABC News anchor Bob Woodruff and camera operator Doug Vogt were seriously injured in a roadside bombing in Iraq on Sunday, the U.S. television network said.
At the time of the blast, they were traveling with an Iraqi Army unit in an Iraqi vehicle near Taji, near Baghdad, the network said. After the blast, the vehicle came under small arms fire, ABC news reported.
Both men have head and shrapnel injuries even though they were wearing body armor, helmets and protective glasses, the network reported. Vogt also had a broken shoulder.
"We have learned from the U.S. military and from our producer on the scene that Bob and Doug are out of surgery and are both in stable condition," ABC News President David Westin said in a statement.
"We take this as good news, but the next few days will be critical. The military plans to evacuate them to their medical facilities in Landstuhl (Germany), probably overnight tonight," he said.
Woodruff and Vogt were injured by an improvised explosive device, or IED, which insurgents often plant on roads to attack U.S. vehicles...
Yeah, the discourse on this thread is disappointing.
First, I have to compare Woodruff to the despicable embedded reporter Kevin Sites, who slanted and reported a deliberately incendiary story from Fallujah that was dishonest, incomplete, deceitful, and downright traitorous in fact if not in law. Woodruff, on the other hand, has to my knowledge done nothing of the kind.
Second, having been in Iraq last year, I have to give credit to *any* reporter who has the gonads to go outside the wire to do their job, embedded or not. The risks are real and they are known. I will even give such credit to Sites, separating that from the fact that he's a moral cripple.
Finally, one has to compare the moral willingness of Woodruff to actually go into the field of action and to do a reporter's job, as opposed to sissyboy alleged "reporters" like Mr. Dee Dee Myers, who I have on firsthand information was visibly terrified that he'd be sent to Iraq as an embed, rather than sitting behind his comfy desk writing his childish anti-Bush, anti-Iraq stories.
I'm glad that Woodruff has survived, and I wonder how it will effect his reporting from here on out. Not that I'll ever watch ABC to followup.
You got time to spare for this, friend?
How to receive a head injury with the helmet on?
