That he's in a WAR ZONE when he doesn't have to be. He can get 'the news' by other means. Like I said, it's my opinion. Deal with it.

"You only need to look at the actions of the left like Code Pink at Walter Reed to understand where I am coming from. The Cameras seem to love Cindy Sheehan and she calls the insurgents Freedom Fighters.

I'm not aware of where You are coming from (and I don't have time to read all your "in forum," to find out) as my post was directed at SteveMcKing's remarks. As for the Code Pinkos' actions in front of WR, and that sheehan woman's remarks, I am WELL aware of it, k?

My point was that we needn't lower ourselves to their level, no matter how passionate one feels about the issue at hand. Ya know, the intergrity thingy...

If this happened to me and I was liberal, it would change my point of view overnight. I would become a supporter of the war immediately.

That is, if I survive.

I hope he makes it, as well as his photog. It sounds like they aren't in good shape.

He was doing a story on the Iraqi military. He obviously wanted to get an up-close look at their work.

There is a guy I work with who is the polar opposite of what I am on the political spectrum.

We get into political squabble quite frequently, but are rather good friends.

A few research projects of his have given him opportunity to go to Iraq with the troops.

If something were to happen to him during any of those deployments or any future ones, I would be heartbroken.

How anyone can dismiss the danger these folks are in by being there, based solely on their occupation or political affiliation just stuns me.

I'm getting the idea you are a bit too stupid to communicate with.

What the hell kind of comment is that.

I am troubled that anyone would not want them to be healed from a terrorist bomb blast. I disagree with what they say..but I do not wish a blast by an IED on any American, left or right..unless they die making or planting a bomb to harm other citizens.

Did you know that there have been reporters on the gound in Iraq since the beginning ???

Neets, what I mean by ignorance is that he is not a reporter he is an anchor. After Jennings died the producers and marketers came up with the idea to have the anchors do the shows from different locations where major stories were occuring as opposed to Washington or New York. Their commercials tout that the anchors are not anchored. This is the marketing decision -- to broadcast from locations such as this rather than have their anchor in a centralized location such as New York.

The decision to have the anchors in places like this is part of a marketing campaign. This is why he was doing the show in Iraq, not DC or New York. You also seem to be ignorant of how TV programming and marketing/advertising campaigns work.

It's not hard to understand, nor is it a conspiracy, nor was it meant to get him killed.

It was, as it turns out now, a bad decision.

The word "bigot" implies an unreasonable and unjustified dislike and/or discrimination against someone that is based on untruths and distortions and ignorance of the true nature of the person...

Hence, describing a lawyer as "bottom-feeding" is not bigotry.

In the same vein, "ambulance-chaser" and "shyster" would not be bigotry.

Simply the truth.

Your comprehension of bigotry is poor.

Some Irish may be drunks, some Jews may be greedy, some blacks may be lazy, and some lawyers are undoubtedly dishonest ambulance chasers. Which does not mean that you are entitled to condemn an individual member of one of those groups because of the characteristics of SOME. THAT is bigotry, and it is precisely what your statement was.

When you have the slightest shred of a clue about this injured man's past behavior as a lawyer, you may freely criticize it, if the facts justify it.

Until then, you are just demonstrating how no segment of society is immune to bigotry.

Of course, if you think that ALL lawyers are dishonest (or all blacks are lazy) then any moron can disprove that assertion by finding one who isn't. You lose either way.

It doesnt seem to matter how many journalists are killed in Iraq to the left.

Their mission statement will always remain the same.

Anyone here with family in the military can easily provide examples of just how the media in Iraq is invested in our failure as they disrespect the mission in Iraq.
