Last Sunday on Meet the Press,
Lukegate takes hold.
RUSSERT: James Carville, before you go I understand that politics may be part of your past, that you're going to go on XM Satellite Radio and do sports?
Then comes news - "James Carville and Luke Russert (son of Russert) To host New Sports Talk Show for XM Satellite Radio".
1. How would Russert "grill" Hillary if his son is co-hosting radio show with Hillary's campaign manager - Carville? (Conflict, Ethics matter?)
2. Can you promote your son's show on your own show & another late-night show on your network?
3. How XM offers the job to a sophomore at Boston College?
4. You don't need experience in radio or broadcast journalism, if you have a famous last name (Isn't that they were saying about W?)
These type of questions will be asked & explored by the media, IF HE IS SON OF HUME OR HANNITY.

Morning AB and everyone. Should be a fun thread today, but I'll be missing some of it. Rats.
I hope posters will put the best parts of Dean's demise on FNS on the thread.
To: Alas Babylon!
Any Sunday morning Dean is on has the potential for some great sound bites.

Am I to assume that as jimmy carter is scheduled to be on Late Edition, that he is still alive, or is this a taped program?

Howard Dean: Time to paint Indiana blue
EXCERPT
Another part of Dean's strategy to win voters is to convince Evangelical Christians, who have become the steadfast voters for the Republican party, that they are voting for a party of "selfishness."
Taking a line from Genesis, the first book of the Bible, Dean explained the first question ever asked by anyone was, "Am I my brother's keeper?"
"In the Democratic party we won't forget that," Dean said.

When Bush took over in 2001, the Intifada was in full swing, and there were regular and frequent terror attacks against civilian targets in Israel. Today, the terrorist groups are engaged in a civil war with each other in Gaza and attacks on Israel are relatively rare. It's not clear to me that there is a downside to what has happened. What could be better than to have positioned two enemies to fight amongst each other? This is like Japan and Germany fighting it out during WW2. Lao Tzu himself would have to be impressed.
I mention this because I hope that somebody in today's lineup points it out lest we drift into this "Bush's Peace Process Fails" meme about the whole Middle East and especially Gaza.

Man GW Bush is a better Christian then me! If I were him, it would be the 12th of NEVER before I would talk to a See-BS, the broadcast network that conspired with his political opponent's Presidential campaign to make phony accusations about his military record in Fall 2004.
Going to be interesting to see what the President says today.

Morning AB and thanks again for the thread.
One of the biggest stories of the week that you most likely won't find on the msm/antique/media today is the courage of one brave man, sixty five year old #2 official in Saddam Hussein's air force Gen. Georges Sada.
Thursday Sada's story was broken wide open by a story in the New York Sun written by Ira Stoll and found here:
http://www.nysun.com/article/26514 Stoll told of Sada's new book "Saddam's Secrets" which was released last week and Sada made the rounds on many talk shows.
One of the first quotes Sada makes in the story by Stoll is;
"There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands," in other words the biggest problem that the dems have had with the war in Iraq "no wmd's" has now been disproven and is neatly documented in this brave mans book.
Sada goes on to state that "the pilots of the two airliners that transported the weapons of mass destruction to Syria from Iraq approached him in the middle of 2004, after Saddam was captured by American troops and basically told him that a 727 and 747 airplanes with seats removed were used to make 56 flights into Damascus to remove huge quantities of wmd's from Iraq into Syria.
In addition Sada alson said that other wmd's were also removed by tractor trailer something we have surmised and told about here on FR for some time.
Sada made a Thursday appearance on Hannity where he documented the same and then again of Fox and Friends Friday.
Yesterday Monica Crowley doing a three hour show on WABC in New York led off her show by stating that she would interview Sada. Immediately I e-mailed her (along with others I surmise) and asked that she do a long in-depth interview with Sada so as to document the facts since this story will and has been told by us, the "New Media". The msm/rat media will run and hide or wildly spin this stroy when they do get around to it.
She did over an hour and at the end of the show said it was one of her all time best interviews and it was.
Of course here at FR there have been many references to Sadas book and his story here are just a few

WMD's in syria from Iraq: Yes from Fox News by Britt Hume. and

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1566863/posts
Oh yeah the other part of the story is that this brave Gen. also was responsible for talking Saddam out of making a wmd strike on Israel several years ago. He stood up to Saddam and won and is still doing it. I for one salute Gen. Sada and all those who want freedom for Iraq.
and I am proud that finally our President will be vindicated re the wmd's which really were in Iraq.

Thanks AB for the thread.
Is anyone else watching Chris Shays rip apart the Republican party on C-Span. The topic is the future of the Republican party. He is ripping apart Republican's for corruption...never liked Delay...too closed minded on stem cell research and life... he doesn't see why Republican's don't think McCain is conservative, and America isn't Red or Blue...but it's Purple. Such wishy washy dribble...

Alas, a much better than average lineup this morning. It's safe to eat.

As info: Kos has a solid 13 names that will vote for Phil A. Buster with 2 undecided who had previously been listed in the "No on cloture" field.
1 Barbara Boxer (D- CA)
2 Dianne Feinstein (D- CA)
3 Christopher J. Dodd (D- CT)
4 Richard J. Durbin (D- IL)
5 John F. Kerry (D- MA)
6 Edward M. Kennedy (D- MA)
7 Paul S. Sarbanes (D- MD)
8 Debbie A. Stabenow (D- MI)
9 Harry Reid (D- NV)
10 Hillary Rodham Clinton (D- NY)
11 Charles Schumer (D- NY)
12 Ron Wyden (D- OR)
13 Russell D. Feingold (D- WI)
14 Barack Obama (D-IL) undecided
(?) (see update)
15 Robert Menendez (D-NJ) undecided
Does anyone besides me think the futility of this exercise will be realized just before the cloture vote and the "debate" will be ended by UC and the vote for confirmation taken as scheduled Tuesday?
....and yeah I know, shower time. Gotta hit the treadmill first though.
