Howard Dean: Time to paint Indiana blue
EXCERPT
Another part of Dean's strategy to win voters is to convince Evangelical Christians, who have become the steadfast voters for the Republican party, that they are voting for a party of "selfishness."
Taking a line from Genesis, the first book of the Bible, Dean explained the first question ever asked by anyone was, "Am I my brother's keeper?"
"In the Democratic party we won't forget that," Dean said.

Forget it? Nope, they ignore it since it does not fit with their world view.

I am tired of coming to the South and fighting elections on guns, God and gays

Yes you do to Howie. Being you brother's keeper does NOT mean keeping him perpetually bound to a politically corrupt welfare state for eternity in exchange for his votes. It does NOT mean robbing other people via taxation and giving "your brother" other people's money. Being your brother's keeper means YOU personally taking care of him, NOT demanding other people's money being taken to do the care FOR you.
So it seems Democrat Party Theology is as stupid as their politics

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"

A lot of "Evangelical Christians" that I grew up with (All rural southern democrats!) are very susceptible to the "class warfare marxist lite" pitch if the cultural concerns are somehow negated.
A democrat candidate crafted to appear "evangelical" could sell in the 'red' states and cut deeply into our support. Of course the 'sophisticated democrat' would know it was a 'tactic' and support their candidate. The acquisition of power being the goal not candidate ideological purity.

As has been noted, Dr. Dean needs to re-read his sources: there are several questions in chapter 3.
But, most importantly to me, I've never seen examples that would lead me to believe that the government would be a good steward of **my** duty to my neighbor and brothers and sisters.
