Actually, I am kind of Phlegmatic and under the Weather today so I am probably only showing a few signs of my "inner ogre" today.

I agree the age factor is also going to go against him. Every year the pressure on a President increases and the expectation of almost constant traveling home and abroad would be almost impossible for someone of McCain age.
Even if he was physically up to it I would have thought that many Americans would have severe doubts on this.

I also used to be a Dem but that's before I started paying attention to the news. People are catching on...Florida's new voter registration numbers show 50,000 new Republicans and 3,000 new Dems!

Racist, in bizarro Junk Journalist world you cannot be close minded, mean, sleazy, racist or corrupt if you are a DEMOCRAT.
Reminds me of an exchange I had with this pompous hysteric old 60s freak in the 1980s. She was ranting and ranting all this nonsense about Reagan and Iran Contra. I looked at her and said "You are the most close minded political bigot I have ever met" She snapped back "I'm no bigot, I am a Democrat". I said "What does that have to do with it" She sneered back"Everyone knows Democrats are open minded". By the time I stopped laughing, she had stormed off.
Basic problem with Washington DC is both Democrats and Republicans read the Democrat's press releases
and believe them.

I had an uh oh moment the other day when the yodeler was speaking about a 'rush' to confirm Judge Alito.
Now we have Biden saying he wants to delay the vote.
They get together and plan their next evil move.

Pence and Coburn can afford to appear to be bucking the party because their party is in the Majority. I remember seeing Coburn on "meet the Press" or one of the talk Shows just before he was elected and he was Gawd awful, and I have seen Pence look pretty shallow, but not too much recently. I believe that the Party leadership is interested in continued Majority status and they are bringing these new Pubbies along playing the games to see just where they need to concentrate their efforts to win everything again. It is smart Politics because for one thing the so called "mavericks" take the lamestream media 24-7 Tom Delay/Abramhoff crap somewhat off the front pages, and some of the disgruntled pubbies do not stray far because they see hope for their cause. Look what Tom Tancredo has done to stir up all this Border stuff that most of America agrees with. The leadership pretends that they are super mad at him, but they are not really and he is with them on almost every other issue. It looks good for our party to have dissent because the Dems are led like Sheep.
