Despite assurances from government officials that the border with Mexico is secure, a Department of Homeland Security document obtained by the Daily Bulletin reveals that law enforcement officials are seeking five Mexican nationals suspected of bringing explosives into the United States. The internal "Intelligence Alert" from the Office of Border Patrol -- issued to law enforcement officials Jan. 12 -- stated that the Mexican nationals were heading to San Francisco to sell the explosives.

of course. That is his total achilles heel
they protect themselves from the illegal immigration and let the rest of us deal with it...
Elitists hang with their own kind, why are the rest of us dealing with this stuff?
the enemy is here living among us.
Be careful what you say here... the Bushbots will soon attack you relentlessyy for suggesting such nonsense.
Oh cry me a river, anti-capitalist!
Funny how cheap labor, open border types like you, nmh, try to present yourself as uber capitalists when you are really just parasites. Let me tell you how capitalism works. It has this thing called supply and demand. That means that when supply is short for a commodity relative to demand the price rises. For instance, if there is a labor shortage in an area wages rise to attract more workers.
No Bush isn't seeking "big money" from "businesses for cheap labor". I'd bet he'd like to eliminate over priced unions from extorting high wages which in turn translate to over priced products. What he wants is to keep wages in line for this kind of work.
So cheap labor parasites like you use the power of the state to short circuit supply and demand by using non-law enforcement to flood the American labor market to keep wages low. Why is it wrong for the price of labor to rise ? Why is it wrong for American workers to make a good living ? What entitles you to use the power of the state to force American workers to accept only what you wish to pay ?
What cheap labor parasites like you want is to turn America into something like Latin America. An oligarchy where a handful of very rich live behind fortified walls and pay no taxes while masses of people live in cheap labor squalor.
Does anyone actually know the immigration process for Mexicans? I tried to find information on the INS web page but it seemed so complicated. I just want a condensed version of what it actually takes. I would think it they could streamline the process, more Mexicans would want to come here legally. Of course, with a limit set on how many, I suppose there would still be those trying to cross illegally. And I don't think I'm for building a wall. My instinctive reaction is that it is so un-American. Our country is built on immigrants and it just seems wrong to say we want to shut people out. But I guess it would be somewhat of a practical solution, though the Mexicans seem to be good at tunnels! Anyway, I just don't think there is one simplistic solution. It's a complicated problem. Just my two cents.
Exactly, but that would deprive a lot of one issue johnny from having anything to obsess about 24/7.
This thread make me hungry for a Taco. As soon as my illegal alien typist finishes entering this reply into FR (hey why should a high American paid like myself resort to grunty type manual labor when I can pay someone below minimum wage to do the task) , I am going to have my illegal alien low paid cook make me one.
Well, they must be still in bed, because so far all replies to my post indicate agreement.
There is a huge amount of hypocrisy among some. They think immigration is great until they get here and then they want the door shut. Like the people who are against building any more homes/businesses in an area after they get their home/business built.
Hoo boy. We can catch all explosives headed from Mexico to the USA about as well as we can catch all drugs.
No problem here --- these poor migrant workers are just trying to improve their families lives by selling materials to terrorists because our native born workers won't do it

You're right, this country was built by immigrants; but they were LEGAL immigrants. It's not the immigrants that's the issue here, it's the illegals who are having anchor babies and draining the economy and causing hospitals to shut down cause of the drain on their funds and the ease with which terrorists can enter. I'm all for easing the legal immigration process. I know of several legal immigrants who have no end to trouble with making sure they obey all the laws; they're practically treated like criminals. All the while, the illegals are roaming free and not having to worry about overstaying their visas and not being allowed back into the country for years if they do.
Not to worry -- Dubya can't run for a third term no matter how many millions of unidentifiable "lettuce pickers" have stormed the border unimpeded since 9/11.
Amonst them, does anyone doubt potential Islamic madmen have set up shop?
Well, after all Our Diversity is our Strength. If the Mexicans in question have any nefarious purpose in mind let our love disarm them.
News for you. The Mexicans who waited in line to get in the door, or whose parents did, by a majority are opposed to the gate crashers. The gate crashers are ruining things for them just like they are for the gringo.
Just smuggling the kaboomeries that Americans won't.
Is it just me, but is there also a flip side to this story? If the only way for terrorists to get explosives is to have them smuggled across the Mexican border then we must be doing something right. Timothy McVeigh was able to make a bomb from feed store components, and apparently that source has been cut off.
