WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday announced she'll join potential 2008 presidential rival John Kerry in voting to filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, just as top Democratic leaders predicted the effort is likely doomed.
With three Democratic senators pledging support for Alito, the New Jersey conservative seems virtually assured of being confirmed by the full Senate Monday or Tuesday, party leaders predicted Friday. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters in Washington that "everyone knows" Senate Democrats couldn't muster the 40 votes needed to support a last-ditch filibuster.

Honest to goodness, I spend more time shaking my head than getting mad.
It's beyond the realm of anybody being able to understand it. I ran out of descriptors MONTHS ago...........LOL.
"And yes, I think BillyBubba is a big part of this "decision" by Hillary on the move to the left. She doesn't make these kinds of decisions without consulting him."
I agree, remember this slip;
"I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president."

ROFLMAO!
The thing is ..... do all these DUmmie senators who are doing this pandering NOW because they are not up for re-election think we're going to forget about this when they are?
Anybody heard from Al Sharpton?
Of course, because they think he's "stupid".
Ma Richards tried to warn them against making that mistake too.
You know Byrd doesn't like this one bit when lashing out at his own party for sending Mrs. Alito to tears and lashing out at anyone who has been guilty of the charge of politicizing this whole process, all the while quoting directly from the Constitution, and some here were scratching their heads when Byrd supported John Roberts for CJ of the USSC.
His speech on Thursday should have laid to rest all the wonderment and confusion, whether you like the guy or not.
He's disgusted, his constitutents -- most, if not all of them lifelong Democrats -- are disgusted, and the majority of Americans are disgusted about just how far we have come and how low the partisans will go.
Senator Byrd, who I disagree with him 95% of the time, said in less than an hour what I've been thinking of all this process for the last 4 years.
The biggest disappointments I believe are Kent Conrad (D-ND), Max Baucus (D-MT), and Joe Lieberman (D-CT), who don't even have the hearts and minds of their own constituents at hand.
Each one of these, who I would call "saner" Democrats are in the tank with the DUmmies, the MoveOn bozos, and the rest of the leftist kook fringe element in this country.
As for Baucus, my father simply said "That a$$hole".
Oh, absolutely; I'm not dismissing that one bit; for all intents and purposes, they "set the table" for this anything goes sprint we're in now.
He lowered the bar so low, Bush's bringing back decorum and honor to the office has been a huge slap in the face to them.
I just never FEARED for the country as a whole as I do now; and I do mean "as we know it."
He's on record as saying the filibuster was pointless and that there weren't enough votes.
I watch Brit's show too and I wish some of the Lib/Dems would watch it and learn. Oh well, that will never happen. I believe that the Dem's have shot themselves in their collective feet this time with their politically motivated slap-shots at Alito. Now they don't have a leg to stand on. heh heh
For most of them...it doesn't matter...look at Kennedy, Kerry, we don't have to go through the list of why these two guys shouldn't even be in the Senate...
but, the electorate either doesn't care, or is too lazy to find someone better.
Too funny.
Thanks. It's just as hard to write it as it is to read it. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic; there's just no escaping it, IMO.
I think because we always like to work within the facts of any given situation, the "why" always comes up; and I think because we're not like "them" we have a hard time accepting the fact that they really don't feel the way we do about this country, this government, and its institutions.
I thank God every single night my mother and daddy didn't raise me a liberal!
River sailing sucks.
We know it's real bad when we have to use a Thesaurus to find new words to describe the idiocy of the Left. I shake my head alot these days too. I shake mine so much that I've now started to consider it an aerobic exercise! LOL
I don't "do" or "get" Oprah.
And from a five-star resort! It just shows how much he really cares for "the little people". LOL!
