No F' in Merlot
As my daughter's favorite Australian cartoon characters like to say, "We're here to help!" :-)
I actually don't like French wines. I think it has to do with the way they're made, in stainless steel vats, rather than wood. It just seems too "subtle." I don't really get into subtle.
Gimme my 5L. moonshine jug of Gallo Blush, and I'm good to go for the night. Really.
Kosher wine from Australia is excellent -- and very inexpensive.
Good for you. Don't forget Oregon wines. Especially Pinot Noir. We are one of the few states that export to other states. Most other state wineries (outside of CA) are for local consumption.
Does that apply also to the synthetic "corks", or just the real ones?
I was immediately impressed by aromas of gooseberries and citrus, mainly grapefruit, followed by a taste of lemon and lime in the mouth, as well as some pear and white peach. The color was pale yellow- green with hints of asparagus.
I detected a nutty taste which must come from either the sheep balls removed during castrating or from the copious amounts of guano produced by the Kiwi bird which, while flightless, sure sh*ts a lot. FullReview
As an engineer, I can only recognise that the composite and plastic cork are vastly superior to monolithic corks, and screw caps beat them all.
Huzzah! May it ever be so!
My gut is presently awash in two large glasses of 1998 Penfolds RWT. As good as the Grange, at a modest fraction of the price.
Life is good.

Or airtight plastic bags with dispenser valves. I'm partial to Black Box wines, myself. Reasonably cheap, high quality, and you can drink occasional glasses over a period of weeks, with the last glass as fresh as the first.
suck it up, and smile!
Women and minorities hurt worst.
Global warming suspected.
Bush's fault.
There is a Trader Joe's coming soon to St. Louis Park, MN.
I'm the same way.
It goes back to right before the war started in March of '03.
I was so pis*ed at how intransigent the French were. How pompous and over-bearing they were. It irritated me to no end - especially all the more since they were in Saddam's back pocket all along.
At that point, I vowed that I'd make every effort to never buy anything produced by the French. And I've stuck to that too.
I'll see your competition, and raise you an expo...

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise (Pr.20:1)
That was my entire intention! :)
