Teen beats up his grandmother - because she won't buy him beer
Bradenton, Florida -- Deputies say a 16-year-old has been arrested for beating his grandmother with a two-by-four for refusing to give him $100 for beer.
Charged is Kurt Cass of Hammock Drive, Bradenton.
Investigators say Cass went into his 60-year-old grandmother's bedroom Thursday and asked her for $100 for beer. When she refused, he allegedly placed a razor blade on her throat and demanded she take him to the bank to get the money, deputies said.
"When the victim arrived back home she locked all of the doors," deputies reported. "The defendant arrived back home and kicked the front door in.
"Once inside the defendant grabbed a two foot 2x4 piece of wood and hit the victim numerous times on the back. The defendant then grabbed a three foot piece of 3 inch PVC pipe and hit the victim on her head, back, and legs numerous times. The defendant's case worker arrived on scene and was able to hold him until law enforcement arrived."
Deputies said Cass has made comments in the past to his grandmother that she should kill his entire family.
Cass was charged with domestic aggravated assault, two counts of domestic aggravated battery, attempted robbery, and kidnapping.
Authorities say Cass came from a troubled family. His mother is in prison on cocaine possession and sale charges, and his father is serving a 15-year prison sentence for manslaughter after choking a prostitute to death in 2002.
The grandmother has had legal guardianship of Cass and his little brother since 1994.
He was probably going to get Alaskan Pale from the Alaskan Brewing Company.
Another shining example of no discipline.
Someone, will one day, stomp his fat hindend into a mud puddle then stomp it dry again, and it will begin to get his attention.
This is clearly a lack of discipline while the kid was younger. If I even attemped any crap like this my pops would have kicked my ass. He was in the marine corps for 37 years and kept my retarded young arse in line long enough for me to get old enough to realize what an idiot I was. I am eternally grateful for the morals and values he instilled in me. This is one of the reason I think we need a mandatory 1 year military term for all males over 18.
OK - so please explain that picture - not all of us get it, you know.
Two words - boot camp.
Work him over gunny.........
Except for that part, reading the rest I swear we could be brothers. My pop was from the same mold it appears
I guess he's a heavy tipper.
"asked her for $100 for beer"
That is one crap load of beer.
Right on.
He should be sent to one of those camps I saw on TV.
The one where parents voluntarily send their children to crawl under the boots of former Marine and Army Drill Instructors for several weeks.
Good stuff.
Why does Florida have so many Psychos? must be the humidity you need to cut with a Sword...
I agree. On the other hand it takes a particularly vile sort of slug to beat up his own mom or grandma. Even Hitler loved his mommie.
This sort of outrage is happening more, in part, because so few children have intact families with an actual mom and dad. Its hard for a child to grow into a healthy mature adult when there are no healthy mature adults around to use as role model.
There was a time when a boy that hit his grandmother would have been clobbered senseless by multiple family members in quick succession: Dad, grandpa, uncles, older brothers, etc. IMHO it was a time when people had the right idea about a lot of things.
Gene puddle *ping*
Sounds like Kurt is soon going to hear, and not like, the phrase, "You sure have a pretty mouth."
Nothing can be horrida
Than the State of Florida

He was probably looking for a keg of something decent.
My Grandma would have bought me the beer.
Not to make excuses, but I'm guessing this kid's parents--and Grandmother--aren't up for any citizenship awards. Trash breeds trash.
