If Canada doesn't want o be the USA then why they watch
all American tv shows and buy American food and cars? I
wonder why a Canadian even is on free republic any ways. Wow, so much insight, it's hard refute such brilliance, but
I'll try in simple, easy to understand examples, so bear with me:
1. According to your logic, Americans who buy Mercedes & BMWs
want to be Germans.
2. More and more Americans are buying Hondas and Toyotas (and
shunning American cars to the point where GM & Ford are closing
plants, so I guess these Americans want to be Japanese.
3. I hear that Americans are fond of Chinese food and Italian
food, so I guess they want to be Chinese and Italian as well.
4. When I was last in the U.S. on vacation, I noticed the stores
chuck full of goods and clothing made in COMMUNIST China,
So I guess a good portion of the U.S. wants to be Commie, eh?
Are you starting to see how dopey your argument is??
As for Canadians on Free Republic - if you noticed the
FReeper donor list of countries, you may have noticed that there
are Conservatives here from many countries and this is a meeting
place for conservatives to exchange ideas & communicate.
Your original post here was a bash Canada post and I don't
think that is what this forum is for.

I wonder why a Canadian even is on free republic any ways.Did the liberals criminalize freedom while they were in power?
Here's a clue. Every time somebody runs against Bush they end up losing. Remember that! LOL

Congrats to the canucks! I watched c-span {broadcasting cbc} the night of the election. I was hoping the cons got a few more votes but it's a good start. Canada and the US suffer from the same disease, red country, large blue cities. Education works, but it is slow and painful. Good Luck.

If Canada doesn't want o be the USA then why they watch all American tv shows and buy American food and cars?
I guess then, everyone in the world wants to be an American because they watch American TV (the O.C. and Simpsons are on in many countries around the world, for example) and movies (if you ever leave the country, run down to the movie theater to see what's playing - more than half of what you see will likely be made by Hollywood), and eat at McDonald's and Burger King. I guess some of us in the northern states want to be Canadian, since Tim Horton's is growing south of the Canadian border, many American cars are assembled or have parts made in Canada, and many movies are filmed in Toronto and Vancouver. Anyone who owns a Honda wants to be Japanese. And anyone who watched Lord of the Rings wants to be a New Zealander.
I wonder why a Canadian even is on free republic any ways.
We have FReepers from around the world. Yes, even France. Nothing requires FReepers to be Americans. The Internet is global.

I think if you asked people all over the world If you couldn't be from (whatever country, which country do you want to be from, most would pick USA. so I guess I agree with you. We film movies up there because there canuck dollar is worth like 65 cents. And plus I'm glad I am funny to all of the snobs on the free republic so-called. At least I can say what I think not just wait and say Oh I agree your so smart your so wonderful. I guess I better go to college to be good enough to use the internet. (sarcastic)
To: Habble Gabble
The Canadian dollar is now worth about 87 cents, which is hurting the Canadian film industry. It's not as cheap to film there as it used to be.

Its good to have a like-minded friend in a nation which which we have common borders and who shares our conservative values. I second President Bush's congratlations to Prime Minister Stephen Harper!

Once a Prime Minister takes office he does not need to be sworn in as an American President does. He only forfeits the title either as a result of resignation, medical disability, or death.

Canadian only wish they were us anyway. There's really not much difference between the two of us anyway. You're probably a troll though.

Some friendly advice...
Expect to have your opinions challenged and be prepared to back up your statements.
There's no shame in admitting you're wrong.
The process will open your mind to other possibilities and strengthen your ability to present your arguments.
FR is a wonderful place to learn and you'll meet some fine people,
but don't expect everyone to be nice to you.
