The RATs are at war for POWER. They don't care about the nation's business. Bears repeating...

It irritated me no end during the hearings to have Spector OFFER the damn RATS more time to bash Bush and spout their vile, insane rantings. When the opposition wants to hang themselves, you offer them a rope.

Did he just say 10 to 11 PM?
he musta ment AM.
To: Txsleuth
They will apparently go until 11:00 P.M.; splitting up the time now--with no objection. Frist starts by saying the dems are smearing Alito. Frist fully supports Alito, etc., etc.

Ironic, isn't it, that McCain of Keating 5 fame is so interesting in taking a leading role in lobby reform?

If this were the House of Commons, the backbenchers would be yelling, "Reading! Reading!" That's my dream job - Tory back-bencher in the House of Commons.

Looks like C-span must have hired a producer from CNN...with the split screen thingy!!
Why don't they have that up for ALL VOTES...so we can keep track...not during debates.

I was surprised when he said 11PM...also, but, it might be his way of saying that they WILL get this vote taken this week...
Besides, there are all kinds of hearings going on...so the Senators will not all be able to speak during the day hours..unless it is John McCain, who feels it in his power to be on TV all day AND night if he wants to....

Yet MSM gives him a pass. What was the tv screen banner on the Today Show this morning? "Straight talk from John McCain?" :-/

Yes, good analyzes with the exception of one line....
"However, this is where Frist should, indeed, must, draw the line"
ARE YOU DREAMING!! Will never happen, the spineless Frist will cave to all the RATholes demands!
To: madmominct
My pleasure...my great hope is that after Alito is confirmed, I'll get to do one, or even two MORE SCOTUS confirmation threads while W. is still President..

C-Span has the vote currently at 12-10. But the Associated press yesterday
announced that Alito has 51 votes, enough for confirmation. 50 republicans and democrat Ben Nelson (D-NE). The five undecided republicans are Alexander, Stevens, Snowe, Collins and Chafee. Alito has Alexander and Stevens locked up. He could also win still undecided democrats like Tim Johnson, Kent Conrad and Mark Pryor. And a filibuster is all but dead. The drama is over.

McCain's 'straight talk' this morning on the Today Show consisted of multiple 'I don't know(s).' But he did call for hearings....

It irritated me no end during the hearings to have Spector OFFER the damn RATS more time to bash Bush and spout their vile, insane rantings. Why? Arlen Sphincter (RINO-PA) is a RAT in drag.
