Durbin is worried about privacy, but seems unconcerned that the governor of his own state, Illinois, requires pharmacies to distribute morning after pills.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich last year ordered pharmacies that stock and sell contraceptives to fill all FDA-approved forms of it -- including the morning-after pill. The mandate also required that the drugs be dispensed in a timely way.

"If a pharmacy wants to be in the business of dispensing contraception, then it must fill prescriptions without making moral judgments," said Abby Ottenhoff, a spokeswoman for the governor.

Last summer, two Walgreen Co. pharmacies were cited for violating the governor's mandate. As a result, the company in September instituted a strict policy for filling the orders. Three of the company's more than 1,000 Illinois-based pharmacists refused to sign off on the policy on religious or moral grounds, said Michael Polzin, a Walgreen spokesman.

She could eat jello from a spoon but the nurses got in trouble because that was "therapeutic". They also were not allowed to give her an icecube in a washcloth for the same reason. But when they did, the nurses said that she looked grateful

I don't think that Frist wants to chance it by letting it slip past Friday ...

I'll mark your "bet" on the before side of the Saturday line then.

It's certainly possible. But the confirmation won't be lost if Frist lets the DEMs play to their base "until the last minute." This is fairly well crafted theater, and the two parties work more closely together than it seems.

I don't think Frist will allow that, though I am somewhat surprised, and a tad concerned, that Dingy has yet to appear on the Senate floor..

Does each senator get to speak only once, or do we have to listen to some of these nitwits again? When will they vote on cloture?

I'm hoping this isn't hinging on who is the stronger -- Frist or Dingy... Frist has ruined any chance of ever running for President by showing us how weak he is in the face of opposition... we can't have that in this day and age, we need a cowboy.
