Good morning once again, all you fellow political junkies. Put on a fresh pot of coffee, put the sticky buns in the oven, put a fresh battery in the remote control, and join us for the latest episode of the world's greatest daytime soap opera, "As the Democrats Bloviate." Yup, once again, it's that time...
Was it just me or did it do a sudden 180 towards the end? I remember being shocked because I'd felt he was supportive in the beginning (of the WOT)
Not as long as Durbin is going to go into the strip search yet again. BTW, he really likes reading as many of the details as he can. Kind of like Kennedy.
Looks like. Think we should check David Duke's forum? ;-)
Wha...???
I thought it was supposed to be about coal miners.
They told me it was all about coal miners!!
Boy, is my face red.
/sarc off
From the way it sounded after the confirmation hearings, Frist didn't rule out the option to keep things running on the weekend.
Who do you like in the Super Bowl?
My predictions: Committe vote on Alito - January 24 (not the January 17 as scheduled); floor vote on Jan 31 (not the Jan 20 currently scheduled). No prediction regarding Specter.
In fairness, I predicted during the hearings, while they were going really well, that the DEMs wouldn't delay. So no matter how it goes now, either way I'm wrong. ;-)
They're obviously regrouping on the fly -- probably in the hallway outside the Senate.
He's probably shell-shocked from the grilling her received from Chuckie, Kennedy and Biden.
Excellent. Make them stay and finish the job
I think he's saying that 70% is better than 10%.
Whereas you are saying you will never get to 90% unless you get rid of the 70% guy, even if that means that for 6 years you are stuck with the 10%.
You have a long-term outlook, believing that in 6 years the republicans will remember what happened to Santorum, will pick a conservative in the primary (notwithstanding that 80% of the republicans actually think Santorum is a conservative and that they should pick a more moderate person), and then that more conservative person will, because of conservative support, beat the incumbent democrat in a purple-blue state.
I would fully support you giving your time and effort into finding a conservative to run against Ric in the primary. If you can't even get enough conservative republicans to put HIM out of office, I hold no hope for you getting a more conservative person elected in 6 years.
But that is why each of us gets a vote. If enough conservatives announce loudly and publicly that they are abandoning Santorum, maybe the moderates and independents will decide that Ric can't be THAT bad a person, and he will win.
Toward the end of his tenured post as FOX News military contributor he did make a sudden detour to Looneyville. You could say he did a 180.
The link refreshed my memory and shed some additional light on the whole story -- talk about a walk back in time.
Yup. He can.
I still think the betting line is "before/after" Saturday for taking the vote on the nomination. I pick after.
LOL! Very lovely.
They have so many minutes based on the number of senators they have. If all the senators don't speak, the big mouths can use the remaining time.
Hi, Bahbah!
Hellllllloooooooo...... unless he has a clear majority in Senate and Congress he CAN'T pass his entire agenda! And people like you are helping defeat his Conservative agenda.
