TEHRAN, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Bombs exploded in a bank and government building in the southern Iranian city of Ahvaz on Tuesday, killing four people, state media said.
State television put the number killed at four and police spokesman Mehdi Ahmadi said the toll was higher than two.
Ahvaz, and the surrounding province of Khuzestan, is a scene of bitter struggles between Iranian authorities and the Islamic Republic's Arab minority.
Iranian authorities are particularly sensitive about protests and discontent in Khuzestan because the region sits on most of the Islamic Republic's crude reserves, the second biggest in the world.
The region has been tense since April, when five people died in anti-government protests sparked by rumours the government was considering relocating more non-Arabs to Khuzestan to water down Arab influence there.
Seven people were killed in a bombing in June and six more in a blast in October.
Also: An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Farouj in the northeastern province of North Khorassan Monday evening.
Where's the Mahdi?
Shocked. SHOCKED I tell you!
Muslims attackling Muslims?
Why its a sin against Islam!
ALARM - the attacks of Ahvaz were to coincide with a visit of the president
TEHERAN - the two murderous terrorist attacks Tuesday in the Iranian locality of Ahvaz took place per hour even where president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was to make a speech there before its visit is not cancelled Monday evening for bad weather, stated with AFP a close relation of the president.
A message for Michael.
Let them reap what they have perfected over the years.
It really is, most incredible, to ponder in the very land which represents one of the main branches of the religion of "peace" something so diabolical could even be possible. Amazing, truly amazing.
Now remember the bearded rat, Ahmadinejad, has gleefully informed his devoted death cultists that his "Expected One" shall be in Iran soon and everything will be just ducky!.....
Reciprocity is coming. The whole world needs to recall these jihadist lunatics started this dating back to 1979.

"the visit of president Ahmadinejad in the province was cancelled yesterday afternoon because of the bad weather", declared this person in charge who required anonymity.
"the president was to make a speech this morning with Ahvaz, the bombs exploded at the same time but not to the place where it was to make his speech", it added.
This is very interesting indeed. I wonder if Ahmadinejad got the message? If first one does not succeed, try, try again...
FYI
"They Sow the Wind, and Reap the Whirlwind."
Sounds like "somebody" is causing trouble for Ahm'madinjahead.
A plane went down the otherday, for no obvious, reason killing a load of top revolutionary guards, involved in the nuke operation.

Latest numbers are 10 dead, 50 injured

Khuzestan?
Someone on FOX suggested that be where Bin Ladin may be hiding. Hmmmmm!
BBC reports at least 6 dead, 15 wounded:
"Nobody has claimed responsibility for the blasts, but one Iranian MP said he thought separatists were behind the attacks.
"The blasts in Ahwaz are always perpetrated by counter-revolutionary elements, those who engage in activities against Iran from beyond our borders and Britain," Nezam Molla-Hoveyzeh told reporters.
"A satellite network has been provoking ethnic and nationalistic issues recently; and some networks outside the country have been active to encourage separatism in Khuzestan."
The oil-rich province, which is home to about two million ethnic Arabs, was rocked by a wave of unrest last year, including bomb blasts in June and October."
Britain seems to be taking the lead on aiding these separatists - remember the Iranian outcry over alleged British government involvement in bomb blasts in Ahwaz in October?
Perhaps we should step up the amount of assistance we're giving these guys...
